The next day I was interviewing Harry and Claire when Claire's phone rang and she left the room to answer it. I forced a smile at Harry like I wasn't annoyed with Claire. This was the fifth time she had left the interview. I went back to slowly flipping through my notes. Harry was looking down and for once I didn't have anything to say to him.
"Are you okay?" I asked. He had seemed a little upset about something.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I looked away.
"Where do fish store their money?" I asked.
"What?" he looked so surprised I couldn't help but laugh.
"Where do fish store their money?"
"I don't know."
"A river bank!" He smiled and I admired how cute his dimples were.
Claire came back into the room and his smile vanished.
"I have to go, emergency photo shoot but I'll be back in a couple days okay? Here I want you to do these things for me and go shopping with her for a dress. Make sure it goes with our theme." Harry nodded and Claire left without saying goodbye. I sat there, feeling awkward. Louis came into the lobby and I looked at him in confusion at who was with him. Niall, Liam, and Zayn smiled and Harry looked at me equally confused.
"What? I thought you were...what?"
"Surprise!" Louis said and the men came in a hugged each other. I sat there and smiled. Liam clapped me on the back.
"How's it going?" he asked. I shrugged and he smiled.
"I thought we could all go surfing since we're so close to the ocean." Louis said. They all agreed and went to grab their things.
"You can come with us Emma." Niall said.
"Yeah. It'll be fun!" Liam chimed in. I looked at Harry.
"Do you mind if I come?"
"Of course." My face fell and the other boys shot Harry dirty looks.
"I'm kidding. Yes you can come." I smiled and went to grab my stuff as the boys started hitting and pushing each other. I'll never get over the fact that they all acted like they were 7 when they're around each other I thought to myself.
I sat on my board and watched the others surf. We were at a private beach and it was just the 6 of us. I had only surfed a couple times before and I was nervous about trying it again. Harry paddled next to me.
"You know what you're doing right?" he asked.
"I think so. I've only done this a couple times."
"I'm sure you'll do fine." He seemed lighter, when Claire wasn't around. More like the man I met that night in New York.
"If I wipeout it's your fault."
"You won't but if you do I want a video." I stuck my tounge out at him.
"Very mature Miss Knight."
"Suck it Mr. Styles." I started paddling away. I wasn't sure what gave me the confidence to openly flirt with him. Maybe it was because Claire was gone or maybe it was the (thankfully blue) bikini I had to get from the store because I didn't have one. Either way I was sure he was openly flirting back.
"In your dreams Miss Knight." He said with a smile. A big wave started forming and I started getting ready. Harry came up next to me. We stood up at the perfect time and Harry let out a yell of happiness. I looked over, he seemed genuinely happy for the first time. I smiled at him, forgetting to pay attention. I lost my balance on the board and fell into the wave.
