“Do you want to play a game?” Harry asked as we were driving towards Los Angeles.

“No.” It was still early in the morning and Harry made me leave before I had my coffee.

“Please!”

“Fine. What game do you want to play?”

“Truth?”

“Of course.” I muttered. I had played truth all the time at slumber parties when I was little. The object of the game was to make the other person tell the truth until they were too embarrassed and had to quit in order to save face.

“What’s that?”

“You can go first.”

“Okay! So first question. Hmm.” He pretended to think and the car started to slide into the other lane. I reached out and yanked the wheel back over. “Got it! Do you have any siblings?”

“One, Amanda.”

“What she’s like?”

“It’s my turn no fair!”

“That’s not how you play!”

“Well its how I want to play!”

“Fine.” Harry said, pouting. I looked away, pretending to think.

“If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?”

“What kind of sissy question is that?” Harry scoffed.

“I wanted to know.” I said. Harry thought about it for a second.

“London I guess. Or New York City but I like London better.”

“Now it’s your turn.”

“You’re so kind.” He mocked, I slapped his arm. “What’s your sister like?”

“Blonde, perfect, nice husband, good house, two model children. She lives in Quebec.”

“Ah a Canadian.”

“Was that a question?”

“I see you’ve already used up your turn and no it was a statement.” I scowled when I realized what I had done. “It’s my turn again!”  Harry said triumphantly. “Okay, do you see her a lot?”

“Nope, she’s 6 years older than me and we’ve never been close. She used to live in New York with me but after…” I trailed off remembering what had caused her to move. “She just didn’t want to be in New York anymore.”  I finished.

Harry was silent. “My turn!” I said brightly.

“What’s the most embarrassing thing to happen to you?” Harry groaned.

“How did I know this would happen?” He began to reluctantly tell me and little by little we shared moments or our lives. I was enjoying myself until he seemed to remember something.

“You said you were engaged before but you didn’t get married, what happened?”

I laughed nervously and I was about to tell him I quit the game when we arrived at the store.

“We’re here!” I said, getting out of the car and hurrying in before he had even turned it off.

“So we need to get you a dress to go with the theme I guess.” Harry said once he caught up to me. I shrugged.

“I showed Claire what I had brought but she didn’t seem very pleased.” I walked over to a rack and flicked through the dresses. Harry leaned against a wall beside me. Thankfully no one was in here and the sales people only briefly glanced at us.

“What’s our theme again?”

“Black and white.”

“So original.” He remarked. I found a black dress that wasn’t too expensive and took it off the rack.

“This should work.” I said, taking out my card to go and pay.

“Wait, don’t you need to try it on?”

“That’s too much work.” I complained.

“Go try it on I don’t want to drive you back here for a return.” I sighed and went over to the dressing room and put the dress on. It was close fitting and made me look curvy. It was two thick straps with a modest v-neck. It barely fell below my knees. I liked it and walked out to show Harry.

“Happy?” I asked, putting my hands on my hips. He turned and his eyes widened as he slowly looked me up and down.

“Harry?”

“Huh?”

“Eyes are up here.” He shook his head and looked at me. I raised my eyebrows.

“Does it look good or not?”

“It looks amazing.” I nodded and went back to my dressing room and closed the door, smiling.
