"I'm alright dear. I'm more worried about him. I think right now he needs you more than he's willing to admit."
"Then I'll be there for him."

♡ Eliza ♡
I left the salon for Mrs.Green's house and walked in to find Sam sleeping on the couch. I grabbed a nearby blanket and threw it over him, knowing he would get cold. I went to leave to the guest room, which was currently my own room, despite the amount of time I end up spending with Sam in his when I felt a hand grab me.
"Eliza," he sleepily called.
"Yeah," I gently replied.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to push you away it's just that-"
"Shhh... it's okay I already know, your mom told me," I quickly shushed him so he wouldn't get all worked up again, sitting beside him on the couch as he lay his head on my lap.
"B-but it's been six years and I never get l-like this."
"Well, that's the thing with bottling up feelings. Eventually, they just come out one way or another."
"You seem pretty put together..."
"Well, I've done it for as long as I can remember. From seeing the scars that littered my mother's arms to my first heartbreak. It's all I know and I just let it break me more and more every day because I'd rather keep it all inside than deal with it."
"Eliza, you know that's really not good for you..."
"It's fine. I've been doing it for the last 24 years of my life and I'm okay."
"Eliza, that doesn't sound like you're okay.."
"Sam, just relax. Let me be the one to take care of you for once."
We stayed like that for a while and he soon fell asleep like that.
I stayed there for a while before deciding to move. Mrs. Green had just gotten back home and wanted some alone time with him, so I went to the guest room and lay there a while just thinking. I wondered about how the best people have the worst luck and how the most clueless of people are expected to lead the way. Why must the world be so cruel? I soon got lost in thought and fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning to find an arm draped over me. I looked up and noticed I was in Sam's arms once again. I let out a small groan and he woke up.
"Hey."
"Hey there."
"You okay?"
"Yeah."
"You sure?"
"I will be."
"Good enough for me," I spoke, snuggling into him more.
"Come on let's go eat."
"You go. I'm not hungry."
"Liza... Please?"
"Uh uh." I turned away from him, getting upset.
"What's wrong?"
I shook my head, holding back tears. I wasn't particularly bothered by this, I was just having one of those days where everything seemed to be making me cry.
"Come here," he spoke, pulling me to him again, "come on talk to me. No more keeping it all in."
"Uh uh," I whimpered as he held me closer, calming me down.
"Shhh... you're okay. Let it all out," he spoke gently.
With that, I broke. I cried my eyes out for about an hour and he held me to him, never once letting me go. I quickly regained my composure and walked out the door and left for the park. I needed a moment of silence to myself.
