Six years ago today
a man walked into a school
And killed 20 children
And six adults I repeat
He killed 26 people within
A few minutes
He fired the shots and they
Rang out and ripped through
The chests of kindergarteners
He listened as these children
These babies screamed in pain
In horror and died.
Six years ago today
Our government offered thoughts and prayers
To those killed and impacted by
The sandy hook shooting and
Six years ago today our government
Did nothing to stop these horrific events and
Ten months ago today a man walked into
Marjory stoneman douglas high school
In parkland florida and
Killed 17 people
I repeat he killed 17 people
Silenced 17 voices
And stopped 17 hearts
And still our government offered thoughts
And prayers
But this time
We have had enough
We have had enough of this bs
Enough of this dying
And shootings and
Massacres
And this time
We demand change
No we are the change
We are the future of this country
I tell you
The young people will win.
