unexpected visitor

"I think you know why Joshua." She said matter of factly, grinning.

"I don't think I do..." He looked at her confused causing her to make her way straight to him.

"To see you silly!" She clung to his neck causing the pair to stumble backwards. Josh was so in shock he could barely wrap his arms around her. Everyone looked at them, eyebrows raised and confused as well.

"Listen Emily..." He grabbed her arms drawing them away from him. "I'm about to go on but we can catch up some other time okay?"

"After the show!" She chirped and turned around, waving to the other boys. They lazily waved at her, avoiding eye contact. Their faces showed nothing but uncomfortableness.

"Uh..." Josh was stuck. Here he had told Valencia one thing but Emily had no idea, making him trapped.

"Showtime!" Craig, their manager, made his way over clapping. Josh looked at both of them, unable to speak before Sammy grabbed his shoulders, spinning him around. He took a deep breath, I can handle this later, he assured himself before putting on a smile.

The crowd chanted and clapped, demanding the presence of the band. Chants of "Greta! Greta! Greta!" filled the room, causing them to form big smiles. It all went silent the minute the lights turned back on, they walked out onto the stage waving and smiling causing the crowd to explode with roars.

The audience ranged from young to old, some being first time concert goers and others regulars, screaming and dancing along to the lyrics.

Sade and Val watched from behind the curtains, dancing and laughing along. Val didn't say anything but she did feel like the atmosphere was tense. Sade knew who the unexpected visitor was and tried to avoid saying a word.

Emily meanwhile could not stop staring and it wasn't in admiration.

"I'm Emily." She raised her voice with all of the noise and stuck her hand out, putting on her best smile. Val quickly turned around grinning, taking her hand.

"Are you enjoying the show?" Val was beaming with happiness. She absolutely loved what they were doing, their energy was amazing and having the chance to see Josh do the vocals live was astonishing. He was charismatic physically and vocally. Jake played his heart out and he showed it with his expressions. Danny was passionate and concentrated hitting every note as if it was his last. Sammy? A crowd favorite, the girls screaming whenever he stepped forward.

"I've been to many so it's nothing new to me." She grinned. Val didn't take that comment as a very genuine thing. Her tone said otherwise but she barely knew the girl to even ask what she meant.

"Well that's good for you!" Val grinned with subtle sarcasm. She knew there was something. Val was always the kind to notice the energy shift in a room. She could never pinpoint it but kept an eye out for anything. Whether it was a topic or a person.

"Yeah!" Emily grinned and let her curiosity take over. "So.." she began, "How long have you known Josh?"

"A short while but Sade has known them for years." Val smiled as she laced her arm with her best friend's. What could it be? What could it be? AHHH something about this chick is so fucking off and the way they reacted is so UGHHH, she thought.
