"you again?"

The night ended with snacks and feet up in the movie theatre. Too tired to speak from all the laughing and yelling, overpriced snacks laid in their lap as they focused their attention to the screen.

Josh didn't enjoy it as much as the others. Emily put his arm around her as she rested her head in his chest. He liked it but he couldn't help but look over at Val, who was in-between Sammy and Danny, the three ate away at her candy, no attention to anything else. He smiled to himself. He liked that they all got along, even though he couldn't say the same for Emily, he understood their reasons though.

"That ending sucked." Jake dragged out as he made his way out of the theater.

"Tell me about it." Danny complained.

"Worst 13 bucks of my life." Sade groaned.

The others groaned in agreement.

"You got it Val, don't even sweat it." Sam tsked as he waved his hand. They asked how her job hunting was going.

"Hopefully." Her eyes went wide as her eyebrows rose.

"Not hopefully." Danny pointed out. "You will."

"I need more of your positivity Danny." Val complimented as he grinned.

"Well I'll be rooting for you Val." Emily smiled. Val smiled back, she appreciated the luck no matter who was sending it.

"I need all the good energy." She spread her arms out, looking at the sky.

saturday morning

Val stood outside of the music store, mentally preparing herself. She took deep breaths, going over what she would say.

Walking in she met the back of someone's head at the counter as they sat on a stool. Greeting them she was expecting an older individual only to be met with that new face.

"You again?" She blurted out with a playful scoff.

"Well well well." He shook his head as he put his hands on his hips. "Val right?"

"Henry?"

"You're interviewing today?" He nodded, rubbing his hands free of any crumbs, shaking her hand.

"Yep." She beamed. "Is the owner here?"

"Nah." He hopped off the stool as Val pouted. "He left me to do it, He'll be back later though."

"Oh okay." She relaxed a bit. He seemed easier to be around.

"Cmon." He nodded towards a 'hidden' room which was only hidden by a curtain. "That's the-" He made some finger quotations. "Office."

The interview went by quickly, getting the job quickly. She could either thank the experience from those summer jobs as a teen or the fact that Henry had taken a liking to her. He saw her as pretty rad, often going off topic to rave about favorite music and whatnot. He mentioned that it was his aunt and uncle's store, creating even more conversation. The rest of the hour fly by as they joked around, becoming friends pretty quick.
