Alright so maybe being around him wasn't such a bad idea.

It was nice. He was nice.

No I wasn't thinking anything further than that. I couldn't. I wouldn't.

Love can bring you heartbreak in many ways and I was no stranger to that pain.

Would it be nice? Probably, but I wasn't going to take that risk. It wouldn't be fair to anyone. I wasn't in that mindset where I was ready to open up to someone besides my father and Sade.

After a while I forgot what it felt to experience good things in life yet this moment right here was amazing.

"I'm having fun." I smiled as I looked up at him.

"I'm glad, so am I." He returned the smile.

"It's getting late though, Sade is probably waiting up."

"She can wait." Josh smirked as we continued to sway.

"Yeah right." I scoffed, "You do realize this is Sade we're talking about right?"

He thought about eventually realizing. "Yeah you're right." He huffed, "C'mon." He pulled me along to the exit. "Want anything before we go?" Josh looked over as we pulled off our skates.

"Just a chocolate, here." I began to take out a waddled up five bill from my front pocket before he stuck his hand out- stopping me.

"Don't bother, I got it." He grabbed our skates making his way back to the stands before I could even protest. Well gee thanks. I finish tying my boots before making my way over.

"You didn't have to do that."

"It's nothing really, I'm getting one too so don't even worry."

"You sure?" I reached back into my pocket.

"Positive. Now put your money back."

"Thanks for being my guide Josh." We were currently still in the car, right outside my house. It was completely dark out except for the dim street lights and the occasional white light that peeped through a window. Probably a television.

"No worries, anytime you wanna hang out just call me okay? You're actually pretty fun to be around." He complimented as he took out his phone, handing it over.

"Just text me so I can save yours okay?" I quickly put in my full name as 'Valencia🤙' before handing it back.

"Yeah just give me a sec." He quickly opened his texts before finding my name, my phone beeping a couple seconds later.

"You know what, you call me by my full name- I'm calling you by yours Joshua."

"Or you could just call me Josh." He grinned as he playfully shrugged.

"Now that wouldn't be fair Joshua! Call me Val then!"

"If that'll float your boat than go fucking wild Val." He playfully shuddered and shook his head. "Ew no, I much prefer Valencia."
