Sade

My best friend was back at my side and good lord did that feel good.

Since our diapers days and our glorious junior high mischief, she's been my ride or die, each other's second in command.

You messed with her, you messed with me. Same the other way around.

No distance could come between and you can imagine the very few messages I've had to send to those who overstepped.

You see, before I left- I was known for this, the whole protector. I protect the ones I love and Val was one of them. Even from a distance I was threatening to others.

I promised myself that I wouldn't let her get heartbroken as she's already done so while I was gone. You know how hard it is to comfort your sister from another mister through the phone when you know all she needs is a hug and shoulder to cry on?

Now that she was by my side, one of my missions was to make her happy. Get her into my friend group, help her get a hobby, the mountains around here were excellent for hiking and I had friends who would be more than happy to take her along.

Maybe I can convince her to get back into playing, I know how hard it was.

Speaking of friends..

Oh the Kiszkas and Wagner, some of the nicest people you'll meet. I met Josh through theatre, meeting his twin, Jake, one day- freshman year after school during rehearsals. Sam and Danny after the some of us from class hung out at the Kizska home.

Ah Jake..

If you were to ask me, It was complicated between Jake and I. He was here. he was there. We tried to make it work once but after two months we decided to stay friends. It wasn't awkward or anything, it was mutual.

He was my best friend after Val and I appreciated him and all his support. Would we get back together? Don't know.

Sure fame can take someone by the head and even if they do go a little overboard sometimes, they were still the same underneath.

Sometimes a good clunk to the head is enough to knock someone back into reality.

"Val! Ya ready yet?" I yelled up the staircase, she was in the second bathroom doing god knows what.

"In a minute, I'm just fixing my jeans!" A few seconds later a freshly showered Val had stomped her way down the stairs.

"Careful will ya? These stupid steps could break anytime soon and it's not in the budget to fix them yet." I joked as I dusted off a step.

"Oh shut up!" She pulled up her jeans, looping her belt, "Where to today?" The clanks of the belt following afterwards.

"I know a good coffee shop a couple streets down, they sell theirs packaged too so if you'd like we can pick some up along with breakfast and get some produce to at least have something in the fridge." I reached over to my keys and jacket hanging by the door, "Cmon, we're taking my car."
