We Found Love

Chapter 17

Back at the bar, watching everyone dance and have a fun night, Jeremy drank the last of his beer before he heard his phone ring. He saw Scarlett's name on the screen. Jeremy darted outside to be able to hear her. "Scarlett?" He asked.
Scarlett took a light, shaky breath when he picked up. "Jeremy.. I have to tell you something.." She cried slightly.
"Baby, are you crying?" Jeremy said softly.
"Yes.. but this is important. You have to listen to me.' Scarlett sniffed, wiping her eyes. "Im pregnant."
"No, just.. take some.. some.." He was unable to finish his sentence from the news she gave him.
"Jeremy?" Scarlett asked, he hadn't spoke and it worried her.
Jeremy's legs turned to jelly as he staggered back against the wall. "Okay, babe. Im gonna catch the earliest plane over there, okay? You'll have to send me the hotel address through text." he instructed.
"Okay, I love you." Scarlett said softly, sending him the address as they spoke.
"I love you, bye.." He said, almost collapsing when he hung up.
"Bye.." Scarlett managed to say before the line went dead. She sighed, laying back as she held the pregnancy rest so she could see it. "I'm not ready for this." She closed her eyes.
Back at the bar, everything was a blur. Jeremy felt his body numb with the realisation he was going to be a father. He didn't know what to feel exactly. Jeremy as happy, he knew that much. Other than that, everything was just a mix.
"I have to go to her." Jeremy told Chris once he was outside. The Australian man nodded, being a father himself.
"Don't worry, I know exactly how you feel. Scared. Fucking terrified." He chuckled, patting his back slightly "You'll be fine, Scarlett is lucky to have you."
"I think it's the other way around. Im lucky to have her." Jeremy said softly. "Can you drive me home? Ill get a cab to the airport." Jeremy asked, turning to the guys.
"Sure, but we're gonna take you to the airport too." Robert nodded.
"Yeah man, we wanna see you through to the end of this." Evans spoke up with a smile.
With that, the men walked to the car.
In the UK, Scarlett was deciding whether or not to tell the director. They had to know because she needed to be careful. However the test said she was only a couple weeks. Scarlett felt it was only right.
Dragging herself to get cleaned up, she picked up her phone again and called the director, having an extremely long conversation about the pregnancy, and how he was happy for her. Soon they got talking about what it would mean for the film.
Still needing to do Avengers 2, Scarlett said she was okay and fit for the role in the movie, despite her current situation. She would be fine until she started showing.
When Scarlett finally got off of the phone, she called up Joss Whedon to tell him the news. Of course she was keeping it all a secret. Trying to go along with not being pregnant for as long as she could. They settled on filming her scenes early so she could still squeeze into the tight leather catsuit she would have to wear.
Reassured and happy everything was going to be fine, Scarlett crawled back onto her bed and hugged her spare pillow, only wishing it was Jeremy. She desperately needed him. She couldn't do it alone.
She couldn't be a single mother with the career she had. Sure, Scarlett seemed strong.. and she was. But even she needed support when it mattered. And that was now.
Scarlett loved Jeremy and his loyalty. She knew that he would drop everything to be at her side, and this proved it. Scarlett only hoped she could make it up to him. She knew he didn't want to go, and she felt like she was making him.
Thousands of miles away, Jeremy, the two Chris', Mark and Robert were all stood at the departure gate, all stood as Jeremy's plane passengers were being called. "We'll see you when you get back." Chris E patted his back, Jeremy nodding with a slight smile, the man was freaking out within his jumbled mind.
The childish the group could be at times, they were all surprised that no one had brought up the fact that the two had actually had sex. Right now, the teasing was at the back of everyone's mind.
"We'd better let you go catch that plane,' Mark said cooly, giving a soft smile of both his support and congratulations.
"Send her our love." Robert spoke up with a smile of his own, landing handsomely on his sharp features.
Jeremy nodded in response to all of them, a dark cloud hanging over his thoughts. Did he even want a child yet? What if he didn't? He couldn't leave Scarlett. Hemsworth noticed Jeremy's blank stare and pulled him off to the side, gesturing for the other men to stay where they were. "Whats going on?" The Australian asked which snapped Jeremy out of his thoughts.
"Nothing, man." Jeremy said, picking up his carry on luggage. Chris grabbed his arm before he could look away.
"Jeremy, you have never looked more depressed." Chris told him, Jeremy rolled his eyes and tried to walk away but Chris' hold was strong. "I've seen that look before Jeremy. You're gonna be a father and you have to realise this now before you go overseas for her." He told him.
"Jeremy, you are committed to her. You've godda be there for her. The next 9 months will be the most amazing yet mentally and physically challenging months of your life, and with a baby it doesn't get easier. But once you have your baby in your arms, you never want to let go." Chris told him. 'Take it from me."
Jeremy had been listening intently, Chris had opened his eyes. This was everything he had wanted, and more so. He had Scarlett's love, and she was carrying his baby. His baby. Only a year ago, this would have been his wildest fantasy, and now he wasn't going to let it slide away as easily as it could. "You're right, man." Jeremy nodded. "Im gonna go catch that plane." He grinned, nodding a goodbye to the guys before walking onto the plane.
Taking the next giant leap in his life. He was going to have a family with the woman he had loved for almost 10 years.
