Marinette's POV

Adrien jogged up to us with a concerned look on his face.
"No, no, no. Alix, Chloe said to stay away from him. Or else she'll do this again!" I whispered frantically.
"She'll do it again anyway. If we let him help you'll get home faster. That head injury is bleeding fast."

"It'll be worse if I disobey her. She has eyes everywhere." I reasoned. Alix looked me over and sighed,
"I'll take care of it."
"Thank you." I breathed.

Adrien finally reached us,
"What happened?! Are you ok? First day out of the hospital and you're already more hurt."
"She's fine, Agreste. I just need to get her home quickly. Run back to your huge mansion and leave us be." Alix snapped, turning us back around and walking away quicker.

"Hey!" He ran up and walked on my other side. "What happened?!"
"Nothing of your concern." Alix answered.
"Marinette." Adrien's stern voice said, "What's the matter? You can tell me!"
"Like she said, everything is fine." I murmured, not looking at him. We crossed the street, taking no mind to the huge group of fans trailing behind us and I took out my key to unlock the door.
"Let me." Adrien said, taking it and opening the door.

"Thanks." I mumbled as Alix dragged me inside. She set me on a chair,
"What do you need?!" She asked me.
"The first aid kit, in the closet over there." I told her pointing to the left. She rushed over and flung the door open, searching on her tiptoes. I cut the string around my knee and tossed the crutch aside.

"Get out of here, Adrien. I can't be seen with you." I quickly said, holding my hand to my head.
"Why not? We're friends aren't we?" I closed my eyes and swayed,
"I wish. Please just leave." I begged him. Who knows where Chloe could be? Why is he even here?
"No." He said firmly, "I'm staying." Finding I was too weak to argue I gave in,
"Then make yourself useful and close the blinds."

Adrien took off and closed all the windows.
"Why're you here anyway?" I queried, closing my eyes and trying not to fall over.
"I was going to pick up Chloe again. Then I saw you and though you were more important." Adrien answered.
Sh*t
My new word of the day.
This means if Chloe saw me, I'm not only disobeying her, but causing an inconvenience. Oh god, just kill me already!

Alix came over and slammed the first aid kit down. I reached inside and pulled out a roll of gauze and some medical tape. A bottle of antiseptic and basically all of my ice packs were on the table. I quickly got to work, tearing the bandaids off my cheek without a flinch. Too many times before had I ripped bandages off of my skin.

I picked up a clean cloth and handed it to Alix,
"Hold this to my head please." She nodded and applied pressure to the wound. I couldn't see how big or deep it was but hopefully the bleeding will stop.

Picking up another cloth, I poured the disinfectant on it and swiped it over the cuts on my cheek. I grimaced as it stung badly, like my face was on fire. Sucking in a deep breath I continued to clean them. Adrien stood nearby, watching me work. After I cleaned off a few other scrapes from skidding across the asphalt, I grabbed the roll of gauze.

I cut off a large piece and secured it to my cheek with a strip of the tape. We didn't have a large enough bandaid. The smaller ones we had sufficed for the smaller cuts and scrapes. It had been roughly 15 minutes so I ordered Alix to take the cloth off my cut. Thankfully the bleeding stopped.
"Whew." I smiled, lightheadedly. I poured more disinfectant into a new cloth and cleaned the wound, gritting my teeth. "Hmm." I hummed thoughtfully. "Mirror." Alix handed my a small circular mirror.

I parted my hair and peeked at the cut. It wasn't big, nor was it small. It wouldn't require stitches though which was a relief. I wrapped some gauze around my head to keep it from starting its bleeding up again. I set some ice packs on my bruised stomach. After we got everything cleaned up we sat around a table, drinking water and eating a snack.

"You should go now, Agreste." Alix told Adrien.
"I don't understand. What happened? Why don't you want me here?" He asked us, looking for answers. Alix's eyes met mine but I shook my head, chewing on a strawberry.

After losing all that blood I needed to rest and regain it.
"Can't say. Sorry. But all I know, is that Marinette won't be safe with you around." My friend stood up and grabbed Adrien, dragging him to the door.

"Bye bye." And with that, he was shoved out, and the door was locked.
"Finally." I groaned.
"Stay with me tomorrow. I'll keep that demon away." I chuckled,
"Thanks Ali."
"Course. Now, we should go get your actual peg leg."
"Give me a minute." I sipped my water.
"Ok. Explain to me what happened." She listened intently as I summarized the horrid event.

"I'm so sorry."
"There isn't anything for you to be sorry about." I brushed her off. "Anyhow, did you get accepted to any top notch colleges?" I took a sip of my water.
"Oh! I've been meaning to tell you! I was accepted to AU!!!" She squealed.

"Oh my god!!! Really?! I'm so happy for you! Guess what, so did I!!" We both screamed and celebrated together. "I think this calls for," I walked carefully over to the counter and picked a few desserts out of the display case, "Celebratory macaroons!" Alix clapped her hands together as I set down the plate. Both of us chowed down.

"Ok, let's go." I finally said.
"I'll go get it. Where is it?"
"My room." Alix nodded and ran up to my room. I sighed and unwrapped the gauze around my head. The bleeding had stopped, and a scab already formed. I tried pulling my hair back into my normal pigtails, but found the tug too painful. I groaned and let my hair tumble down around my shoulders, at least this would hide the scab as well.

In my head I had already planned out my outfit for tomorrow, my long sleeve pastel pink shirt with a small knot at the bottom, paired with brown leggings. Recently, I'd found this miracle oil that was supposed to make scars fade away. I'd just started applying it and it had already began working. Soon, I'd be able to wear short sleeved shirts again, if I didn't add more on.

I smiled contentedly as Alix came down the stairs with my bulky leg brace. I internally groaned but took it gratefully out of her arms. I slipped it over my leg and secured all the buckles. Leaning on Alix for support, I got up and tested my weight. "Great. Let's go." Alix nodded and helped me outside. We made our way over to the school, a few people stopping us and checking on me.

"Now, where is it?"
"That one." I pointed towards one of the dumpsters.
Great. Dumpster diving wasn't exactly what I wanted to do on Monday night.
I dragged over a wooden crate from the corner.
"I'll look." Alix volunteered, stepping on the box. She put her hands on the rim and peered inside. "Aha!" Alix reached inside, her feet lifting off the box. "Got it!"

She shouted, hopping off triumphantly with my peg leg in hand.
"Thank you, Ali!!" I pulled her into a hug.
"Of course, Mars." We separated and she pushed the device into my arms. I smiled warmly at my friend, sitting on the crate and undoing the brace, and putting my peg on. Sure it was gross, but I really had to get home now.
"Thank you, really Alix."
