Marinette's POV

"Ugh, your so ugly Maritrash. And lose some weight too. Eww, I don't even want to look at you." I looked down as my things were thrown across the floor. Alya wasn't there yet so I was stuck on my own sitting at my desk. I bent down and gathered my things.

I'm already starving myself, running whenever I have free time, what more can I do? Only one more week. Then you'll be free from this hell.
I plopped back down at my desk with a thud.

"Dudette!" I smiled and sighed with relief, Nino was here. I looked up at him and smiled.
"Nino!" I scooted closer to where he sat. "Are you ready for finals to finally be over?" He tilted his head back smiling.
"We are so close." He shook his fist in the air and I giggled.

"Right? Hey girl!" It was Alya! Thank the lord. "How do you think you've done so far?" She sat down and set her bag on the floor.
"I know. I'll bet she failed." Sabrina laughed. I rolled my eyes and ignored them.
"I don't know. But I'm pretty sure the AU is writing back to me today!" I beamed.

"Ooh girl! I'll bet you got in like us. Maybe we'll be roomies!" I nodded as the teacher walked in and began the lesson. I took out my sketchbook and began doodling. I was listening, and I knew all the answers most of the time.
"So, does anyone know the answer?" Mrs. H asked.
37.

I thought. But I avoid eye contact. That's school 101. Don't want to be called on? Do. Not. Make. Eye. Contact. Then I made the rookie mistake of looking up at the board to copy down the notes. Her eyes flickered towards mine but I quickly looked away and closed them.
Don't call on me. Don't call on me. Don't call on me!

"Marinette. What did you get?" I sighed and took a deep breath. The old Marinette wouldn't have acted like this.
"Th-Thirty s-s-seven." I replied nervously.
"Why don't you come up and show your work?" I closed my eyes and bit my lip.
Why? Why not just call on Max?

I slowly got up and began walking towards the front of the class, when I tripped, on air. I fell to the floor groaning, but quickly popped back up and ran to the board. I picked up the closest marker and began scribbling what I had on my paper onto the board. I didn't need to worry about it being messy, for some reason my handwriting always turned out alright.

I slammed the marker down and quickly bolted back to my seat and sat, my face on fire.
"Very good." I let out my breath. The rest of the class passed without anymore problems, my head down the entire time.

"Lunch, finally!" Alya groaned as the bell rang. "I've been sitting for like, forever." She picked up her bag and I followed her out.
"I'll be there in a minute. I'm just gonna stop by the bathroom." She nodded and walked off with Nino. I set my lunch down and stepped into the bathroom.

A sense of anxiety washing over me now that I was alone. I hated being alone, I used to love it. I finished up as quickly as I could, but not quick enough. Chloe's nasally stupid voice entered. She looked at me and smirked.
"W-w-w-What do you we have here?" She mocked, shoving me to the ground. I groaned and rubbed my head, that would leave a bruise.

"Just let me leave, Chloe. Please." I squeaked. She walked over to me slowly, her expensive high heels clicking on the floor. Chloe knelt beside me and slapped me hard against the cheek.
"Get out of my sight." I scrambled to my feet and ran out, grabbing my things as I did so.

After School...

"Bye Alya!"
"Call me once you get home. I want to hear you read that acceptance letter!"
"Alright Alya! Don't be so sure now." I laughed and watched as she disappeared in the distance. I looked over to suddenly see a long black limo pulling up.
What's that doing here? Chloe.

That must be for her. That meant she was close. I looked around but didn't see her, I sighed in relief. But when I turned, I saw a handsome boy climbing out of the car. His sunshine blonde hair and forest green eyes mesmerizing me as he stood and closed the door. When a certain witch squealed from behind me.

"Adrikins!!!!!!!!!!" My eyes widened and I touched my cheek, it was still tender from the slap. I spun around and saw her walking down the stairs.
Shoot! I have to get out of here.
I started backing up only to bump into a wall.
What the?
I twirled to see him standing there.
Oh no. This must be her boyfriend. If I'm seen...

I trailed off. I had a good run...kinda. Better start planning my funeral.
"You came to get me Adrien!" Chloe squealed. I backed away from him with my hands up.
"S-Sorry." He chuckled.
"It's ok! What's your name?"

"Mari-." I began but cut off with a shove to the side. I fell to the hard concrete, the contents of my bag spilling everywhere. My sleeves pushing up.
Sh*t. Really?
I got on my hands and knees and began to pick it all up, stuffing it quickly into my bag.
Don't talk to me. Please. Please. Please. Pleas-

"Marinette." Chloe said flatly, I flinched at the sound of my name. I quickly grabbed the last of my things and popped up, spinning around to look at them. I didn't dare look at Adrien.
Wait. Adrien? Adrien...Agreste?
I looked over to him, my eyes drifting slightly to the right. And there he was, on a poster for "Adrien" the scent. My eyes darted back and forth matching his face with the poster. Yup.

"You're Adrien Agreste aren't you?" He smiled and nodded.
"That's me!" I sighed and looked away. "What's wrong?"
"You're friends with Chloe?" I asked, no more enthusiasm to be found in my voice.
"Uhh, yeah?"
Oh. And here I was thinking he'd be nice.

"Great." I looked at her with the burning hatred of a thousand suns. This girl made my life barely worth living. And to think, I'd almost liked him. I shrugged.
"Ugh, get out of here." Chloe ordered.
"Ok, have fun then. See ya." I said, touching my hand to my forehead and flicking it out, like a salute. I turned and began speed-walking away.

"Wait!" He grabbed my wrist, and flipped it over while pulling me back. He looked at it in alarm. I pulled it back in surprise, afraid he'd seen the scars I'd put there with not long ago, with much regret. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't have trouble not picking that blade up again. I held my hand to my chest protectively.

"Sh*t." I said out loud.
"You. You cu-," I clamped my hand over his mouth, and pulled my sleeves down.
"Yeah! I um, cook! So I accidentally burned, my wrist?" I said, more like a question.
"Wait. What was there Adrien?" Chloe asked, pointing at me.

I closed my eyes and waited for him to tell her, then she would go around telling everyone.
"Um. Burn marks." He said hesitantly. I slowly opened my eyes looking up at him in surprise. I smiled gratefully while backing away slowly before booking it down the street, a group of fans surrounding him and Chloe.
