Adrien's POV
"Let's go Adrikins! Let's go shopping!" Chloe whined, tugging on my arm. I rolled my eyes,
"Chlo, I already told you, I've got a photo shoot." I repeated for the millionth time. She groaned like a toddler.
"But-!""Oh look! It's Vincent! My photographer, better run! Bye, Chloe!" I yelled to her quickly as I dashed to the set. It was in the middle of a park today, next to a fountain. I could hear Chloe grunt before stomping off.
Oh. Thank you!She was my friend sure, when there wasn't anyone to compare her to, and there wasn't.
"Vin!" I said happily. The tall man turned around with his expensive camera hanging around his neck."Adrien! Just on time! Head over and get your hair and makeup, we'll begin in 5. I nodded and went over to sit in a chair, where my face was immediately bombarded by all types of makeup products. After they were done the familiar sound of the clicking camera and flashing lights filled my ears and eyes.

"Ah! Hold on! I need a new memory card." Vincent cried and ran over to his van. Adrien sighed and sat down on the ledge of the fountain. He leaned his head back as a cool summer breeze blew by and he tried not to think about the crowd of fan girls and boys dying to get on the set. Then, his peaceful thoughts were interrupted by a high pitched voice.
"Mawinette! Can I have icecweam?? Pweeaaaassseee?" His eyes rose to see Marinette holding the hand of little Manon who she was babysitting, and walking beside Alya.Marinette laughed and her smile was like a dozen diamonds glistening in the sunlight, Adrien thought.
"Oh alright Manon." She giggled and led her over to Andre's ice cream cart. "What flavor?"
"Ummmmmm." The little girl tapped her chin."Vanilla and stwabewwy pwease." Manon said.
"Okeydokie." Marinette smiled. "Alya, want something?"
"I'll have the chocolate supreme sundae." Alya said, pulling out some money from her pocket.
"One vanilla and strawberry on a cone, one chocolate supreme, and a cup of mint chocolate in your smallest size please.""Of course! Of course!" Andre said enthusiastically, scooping the ice creams. Alya tried to hand the man her money, but Marinette pushed it away.
"My treat." Alya opened her mouth to argue but Marinette gave her a look saying there was no use in trying. The raven haired girl giggled and gave Manon her ice cream."Yay!! You're the best Mawinette!!" She exclaimed, running off to chase some pigeons. The two older girls grabbed their ice creams and sat down on a bench. Adrien sighed dreamily thinking about having some ice cream, the dessert he was forbidden from ever having.
Marinette took a bite out of her puny ice cream, sighing happily.
"Omg girl. This is so good! Why'd you get such a small size?" Alya began licking her chocolate sundae."I don't know. Just, watching my sweets I guess." Marinette lied. It was most definitely because of the mean thing Chloe and Sabrina have been saying to her.
You should lose some weight Mari.
You're so fat!
How could anyone love you when you look like that?
Just go die already.Marinette pulled out her phone to check the time - 4:47. They had just finished and were getting ready to leave now.
"I've gotta check to see the AU's response! It came in late. Come on Ma...non. Manon?"Marinette whipped her head back and forth. "She was just here! Two seconds ago!" She tugged on her pigtails, her heart beginning to race.
"Calm down, Marinette. Let's just look around, and ask if anyone has seen her." Alya said in a soothing voice. Marinette paced back and forth while closing her eyes and breathing deeply.
"Ok! Let's start it up again Adrien!" Phillip called happily. Adrien internally groaned but went over to stand in front of the cameraman. They took a few photos when they heard a scream,
"Manon!!!!" Marinette cried, sprinting over to the road, leaping over the stone wall and benches. Alya was looking at her in awe, was her best friend, the girl who could barely walk a few feet without tripping over air, jumping over walls like it was nothing?
The little girl was wandering out into the busy road, following a butterfly, a car barreling towards her. Marinette was only a few feet away, the wind blowing her hair out of her eyes.
Everyone looked at her in awe as she ran like the Flash towards Manon, who was looking back at her now, right in the center of the car lane.
Just in time, Marinette jumped into the road and shoved Manon out of the way, wrapping her in her arms and clearing the side of the road with the car.
Her legs flew out nearly horizontally, the car nicking her ankle as she flew by. Marinette stuck her elbows out to shield Manon as they rolled as cross the asphalt. Eventually they came to a stop, Marinette groaning in pain on the ground. Alya ran up to them,
"Mari? Mari! Are you ok?!?!" She cried frantically. She coughed,
"Never been better." She laughed but stopped, wincing in pain."Call an ambulance!" Alya barked to the bystanders watching all around, including Adrien, who had wandered over to scene. "What are you doing people?! I said call an ambulance!" Alya screamed. Adrien shook his head and whipped out his phone.
"112 what's your emergency?" A calm lady answered on the other line.
"Hello? Hi I'm calling to report a girl getting hit by a car. It's just her ankle but she's badly hurt!" Adrien blurted out.
"Ok sir where are you right now?"
"Rue Cler." Adrien said."I'm sending an ambulance right away. Make sure she stays awake." The lady ordered and hung up. Adrien knelt at her side. Marinette was lying on the ground, her right arm looked broken, her foot facing the wrong way, blood oozing out of her head, and a number of other things were wrong with her.
"Marinette! Do you hear that? An ambulance is almost here, stay with me girl." Alya cried frantically as the faint sounds of an ambulance came closer. Marinette gasped for air, Manon crying beside her.
"I-I'm o-ok Manon." Marinette tried to reassure her."C-call Mrs. Ch-Chamack." Marinette croaked. Alya nodded and stepped away for a moment, taking the little girl with her. Marinette closed her eyes and took several deep breaths.
"You've gotta stay with us Marinette." Adrien said calmly, not knowing what else to do. Her eyes snapped open and met Adrien's."Agreste? Wha-What are you doing here?" The broken girl asked, confused.
"I was nearby." Adrien tried to sound as calm as he could. Her eyes widened and she looked at her arms, the jacket sleeves nearly torn away.Marinette opened her mouth to speak but instead broke out in a fit of coughs, her blood splattering onto the cement. Her breathing came in short ragged intervals.
"So...tired." Marinette wheezed, her eyes slowly closing.
"No no no Marinette. You've got to stay awake." Adrien gently touched her shoulder as he heard a car door slam behind him."Get me a stretcher and prepare the ventilator." A woman ordered kneeling beside Marinette, Adrien stood and backed away. "We're going to take care of you sweetie." She said soothingly.
A stretcher was taken out and Marinette was loaded into the back of the ambulance.
"One person can come." The paramedic said. Alya stood a few feet away, sobbing into her boyfriend Nino's shoulder, he was a block over and saw the commotion.Nino mouthed to Adrien,
"Go. We'll meet you there." Clearly mistaking him for one of her friends. Adrien didn't argue, he hopped into the back of the truck and it zoomed away. But, nobody noticed the old man in the Hawaiian shirt watching the girl with midnight hair's heroic actions.
