I bit back a smirk when I felt the Beta moved out of my way. "Last chance," I warned the Alpha. "Move or get moved."
He growled out a warning, and I had a feeling that he narrowed his eyes at me.
"Ok," I said. I fiddled with my staff and waited, listening to the sounds of his breathing.
"It's... 11:50," Peter said. He sounded nervous. "You might want to do something and something fast."
I scowled. "If I get sent back to that hellhole, then it is your fault," I said, pointing my staff at the Alpha.
The Alpha growled and snapped at the staff. However, he got nothing but air, for I had pulled my staff away and smacked it on the side of his head.
Thunk! the staff went as soon as I had smacked it up against the side of his head.
The Alpha backed up a couple of steps and reared back in surprise. He grunted out in shock as if he was surprised that I had even hit him.
"Holy, shit," Peter breathed out as I had smacked the Alpha upside the head. "Did you just smack him?"
"Yes," I replied, stepping onto the path. I raised my staff threateningly when he growled. "And, I'll do worse if you don't leave us alone."
The Alpha snarled and went to snap at me but was stopped by someone else. He growled out a warning, causing the other one to snort.
"What's happening?" I asked. I cocked my head and fiddled with my staff.
"Ummmm, the Alpha is warning the Beta to move out of his way. You pissed the Alpha off."
"Ya, well, he pissed me off," I replied. "So, if you will, Beta, move out of my way, and let me take care of this."
The Beta growled at me, and I rolled my eyes and scowled.
"Well, I'm sorry, I hate bullies and like getting into trouble. I don't want to get into trouble with Max's parents if you two dundernuts don't move out of my way."
The Beta snorted, and I could tell that he was unamused. He looked back at the Alpha, and I had a feeling that there was a silent communication going on between the two of them.
"What's happening?" I asked, feeling the Alpha sulk away and the Beta moving in front of me. I lifted my staff and narrowed my eyes. "I'll smack him if he tries to be an ass."
The Beta huffed as if he was chuckling. He turned to the side and laid down with his Alpha glaring at him.
"He wants the both of us to get onto his back," Peter said. "He'll take us to the house."
I shook my head. "Edge of the woods. He'll take us to the edge of the woods with the Alpha following. I don't want them to get into trouble with the others because the Beta gave me a ride when he is not allowed to."
"Worry about that later. Right now, let's go. We only have six minutes left."
