RORY
It turns out, I needed surgery on my ankle to fix a broken bone. Other than that I was just slightly dehydrated and needed a few good meals in me. I was okay.
Beck was basically the same. He had a minor parasite, but it wasn't anything that some medicine couldn't fix.
I woke up in the hospital, my room full of people and bustling with life. Flowers filled basically every part of the room where there weren't people, and several stuffed animals sat at the bottom of my bed.
My parents were the first to see that I was awake, engulfing me in a tight hug and gushing over how glad they were that I was okay and back home. I shed several tears with them.
The next to rush up to me was Lila, who looked as if she hadn't slept in a week. She looked worse than my parents.
"Oh my god, Rory, I am so sorry for leaving you. I feel so bad, oh my gosh." She said, hugging me tight.
I laughed. "Lila, it wasn't your fault. If it was anyone's fault it was Professor's for not taking attendance."
She grimaced. "About that. He was fired."
"Damn. I can't say that he didn't deserve it."
She laughed. "He left those flowers though. And promised to pay both you and Beck's medical bills." She pointed to an extensively large bouquet of different colored roses.
Much to my surprise, the next people to come up were Beck's parents. Who were hand in hand. What the hell happened while we were gone?
"Mr. and Mrs. Hensely, hi." I said, recovering from my shock.
"Glad to see you back safe, Rory." Mrs. Hensely said. "I bet you're wondering what you've missed. I'm figuring Beck told you what happened between our families?" I nodded slowly. "We'll tell both you and Beck at the same time. We just checked Beck out of his room, so the nurse should bring him in her soon."
As she finished speaking, the door opened and Beck appeared in a wheel chair, looking as unamused as ever. His nurse was pushing him.
He turned to look at his nurse. "You know I can walk right? All I have is a parasite."
"Beck!" Beck's dad hissed. "Be nice."
"I am!" He raised his hands in defense, his nurse laughing quietly behind him.
"Your meds made you dizzy. We don't want to risk you falling and hurting yourself, now do you? How are you supposed to drive your girlfriend places if you break something?" She asked, gesturing to me.
Beck and I both blushed and ducked our heads, meeting each other's gaze at almost the same time. Everyone in the room looked at us in surprise.
"This boy here wouldn't shut up about her as I was getting him ready to check out. He really does love you, you know." She said to me. I couldn't help the smile that grew on my lips. "You all have a great evening." She said with a smirk, then turned and left the room.
The room was silent, Beck and I sheepishly looking at everyone. Lila was the one to break the silence.
"Oh. My. Gosh." She said. She pointed at me. "You're telling me everything."
"You're telling all of us. Right now." My mom said, a smirk on her lips.
I gaped. "Mom!"
"We're waiting." Dad said, leaning back in his chair and tapping his foot.
I looked to Beck, who looked very amused in this situation. He motioned for me to go ahead.
I sighed in exasperation. "Fine. I kinda like him and he really loves me."
"Oh really? That's not what you said on the island." Beck shot back, raising a brow.
"Sheesh. Okay. I love him too."
Beck grinned wide, blowing me a cheesy kiss.
"Okay, how did I miss this?" My mom said.
"Well...We've kinds been distant since..." Beck said, looking at his parents with a small frown. Confusion filled his face when he noticed their locked hands.
"I think we have some explaining to do." Beck's dad said.
The next thirty minutes were spent listening to our parents explain all that had occurred while we were gone. Once they were finished, Beck looked on top of the moon.
"So, you didn't cheat on mom?" Beck asked his dad.
He vehemently shook his head. "I would never. I love her and you way to much to even think about doing that."
I looked at my mom. "Your sister is in jail?"
Mom nodded. "She was booked while you guys were on the island. She's not eligible for bail."
"So...Everything is good now?" I asked. "Between all of us."
Everyone nodded with wide grins. "Its Friday, who's up for game night?" My dad asked.
Everyone raised their hands.
