The next few days were as normal as they could get around the glade.

Bree got up, ate breakfast, packed lunch, and went out to run.

Then she'd get back, draw her map, eat dinner, then sleep.

The cycle just kept repeating over and over.

It was kind of boring, but there was nothing Bree could do about it.

As she ran through the maze, she noticed how dull it was.

Sure, it was sunny, but it was also hot.

The walls and ground were all dirty, and it just looked, well, sad.

Just then, she heard a noise.

She knew it wasn't a griever, they sounded way different.

It was the moaning sound she had heard a few weeks back.

There was a new sound to it, though.

It sounded like a buzzing noise. And it was loud.

Bree looked around, confused. The buzzing kept getting louder and louder.

She had to cover her ears.

Then, dust flew up from the ground.

It got in her eyes and made them sting.

She rubbed her eyes frantically, trying to see.

Bree opened her eyes slightly and squinted.

Through the dust, there was a massive form.

She couldn't tell what it was, but it had wings, and it was flying.

Bree decided she didn't want to die today and turned and started running.

Dust was still everywhere and she was basically running blind.

She took out the biggest knife she carried with her and put it in her left hand. She got closer to the wall and ran her right hand along the wall.

She cut some vines off and kept running.

Her heart was pounding.

Bree knew it wasn't a griever, grievers didn't fly.

Then what is it? Bree thought.

Bree just escaped with her life only a few weeks ago, and she had been careful and hadn't run into a griever since.

But, she knew it couldn't be a griever. She kept telling herself that.

She felt the same rush of adrenaline she did the time before, when she was running for her life.

She remebered Minho always said: "Run like your life depends on it, because it does."

And that's exactly what Bree did.

She ran as fast as she could.

The dust was still everywhere, probably because of the thing flying behind her.

Bree was slowing down, dust was still in her eyes making them red and watery, in her nose, and little grains of it were getting in her mouth.

She was spitting and involuntary tears were stuck by her eyes since she was running so fast.

After a few minutes of running for her life, Bree realized that the sound of the things wings had ceased, and all there that was left was dust all around her.

She stopped, wiped her tears away, and spit out the dust.

She still couldn't see anything three feet in front of her, but at least the dust wasn't in her nose or mouth anymore.
