(A/N:27 got 1K in in under 1 week. As promised- here's a new chapter!)

"Alby, what are you even talking about?" Bree asked, now confused, the fun, bright enviroment Chuck had created just moments before, had gone away.

"I'm just going to... go.." Chuck said quietly as he slipped past Alby.

Alby walked into the room and closed the door behind him.

"Okay, what are you talking about?" She asked him again.

Alby shook his head. "Just had to get the boy out of here."

Bree nodded understandingly. Chuck was really nosy.

"I do think you're stupid, though." Alby said.

"Why? What did I do?" She asked.

"You went and got Newt all worried. While you were sleeping, he was a mess." Alby explained.

It never occured to Bree how Newt felt about this. He watched her almost die.

"He really needs you, so don't go off trying to get stabbed again, okay? The guy really cares about you." He said to her.

Bree nodded. "I wouldn't do anything to hurt him purposely."

Alby nodded. "Good that."

Just then, the door opened and Newt walked in.

"Bree, up for a walk?" He asked, not really noticing Alby in the room.

She nodded. "Sure, Newt."

-

She had only been outside a few times since the accident, and it sure felt nice.

The pair walked to the deadheads. It was always nice back there, no one to bother you. Gave you time to think.

"I have to tell you something." Newt told her quietly.

Bree nodded, not really concerned. "Okay."

He pulled her close to him and took a deep breath.

"I haven't really been myself lately, and I know that you know, because I heard Alby talking to you earlier."

Bree nodded.

"Just, I thought I was going to lose you, the fact that you exist makes me feel like I have a puropse, and if you died.. I wouldn't know what to do with myself." He said sadly.

Bree couldn't believe what she just heard.

"You really think that?" She asked.

He nodded.

"Sometimes, I just don't feel like I'm enough for you, you know?" She asked.

Newt laughed slightly. "It's not like there are other girls here, Bree. I'm certain that all the girls out there could never compare to you."

She looked down at the ground and sighed. "You think that now, but once we get out, you'll find someone better, someone who is enough."

Newt tilted her chin up, making her look into his eyes. "You are enough, You are so enough, it is unbelievable how enough you are."

Bree smiled and kissed him.

Whenever they kissed, it always seemed like time stopped, and it was just them, in their own little world.

And this time, no one intterupted them.

-

A few weeks later, Bree was back to her old self.

She was back into the old routine too. Get up, run, come back, eat, sleep, do it all again tomorrow.

She was waiting for the doors to open with Newt.

"So, you used to be a runner?" She asked.

Newt nodded. "Yeah. It was horrible."

Bree laughed. "Maybe for you, I like running."

He rolled his eyes. "I used to like it. Then the bugging griever had to get in the way."

She nodded understandingly.

If that had happened to her, she wouldn't want to go back to the maze anyway, even if she could.

The doors started to rumble open and they both sighed.

"Be careful, soldier." He told her with a smirk.

Bree smiled. "Always!"

Minho rolled his eyes. "You two are disgusting."

-

After a long day of running, Bree was sitting alone in the woods with Newt. It seemed like the two were inseperable these days. Right when she got back from running, he was there. When she left in the morning, he was there. They often slept next to each other.

"Don't you have work to do?" Bree asked him lazily.

Newt shook his head. "Got most of it done before you came back."

She looked down at their hands. Newt was in the process of playing with hers, intertwining their fingers, tracing small patterns on her palm, and just holding them.

She rested her head on his shoulder and sighed in content.

"Hey, Bree?" He asked.

"Yeah?" She replied.

"What if someone did something really bad, and it was someone you care about. Would you forgive them?" He asked.

Bree shrugged. "It depends on the situation. Is this about that joke Chuck played on Thomas and Minho? They really need to get over it." She said.

When Newt didn't answer she looked up at him to see him looking up at the sky.

"Your star isn't out tonight." He murrmured, almost to himself.

"Yeah.. It's kind of cloudy if you ask me." She said.

"Could rain later." Newt said, readjusting himself to be more comfortable.

Bree shrugged. "I like rain."

"I do too. It's calming." Newt agreed.

"You think our parents like rain?" She asked him, looking up.

"I think so." He said as he squeezed her gently.

She cuddled into his side.

It wasn't that cold out, but hey, this is Newt we're talking about.

"Hey, Bree?" He asked again.

"Hm?" She replied, already getting sleepy. She felt him lean closer to her.

"I am very attracted to you." He whispered.

Bree cracked a smile and looked up at him.

"I am very attracted to you too."
