(A/N: OK I HOPE THIS WORKS NOW)

"I told you it was real!" She said.

"Is he okay?" Minho asked.

Alby hesitated for a second, then nodded, "For now."

"So, since everyone believes everyone- how are we going to protect ourselves against this thing? We don't know much." Newt said.

"Well, I know that it'll stalk you, then eat you. It can fly so it's pretty fast.. But it can also be outran." Bree said.

Alby nodded. "We'll have to get all the runners and talk it all over."

"Good that. Now, how bad is Thomas?" Minho asked, genuinely concerned.

Bree almost made a joke about how Minho and Thomas were perfect for each other, but she noticed the look he gave her right then.

Thomas was Minho's best friend. Or, well, Minho was probably Thomas's best friend.

She knew that Minho was really good friends with Newt too, but, who wasn't friends with Newt? He's way nicer than most of the other gladers. And he genuinely cares about other people. He's also really attractive..

Bree caught herself before her mind could wander any farther.

She knew that Thomas and Minho were just friends. And things would stay that way. It was just fun to joke about.

Alby sighed. "I guess you can go see him if you want. He's up in the homestead."

Minho grabbed Bree's arm and pulled her towards the homestead.

When they got inside, they walked up the creaky stairs and down the hall.

She didn't know which room he was in, so Minho just opened every door in hope Thomas would be in there.

They finally found the right room, and when they did, she wished they hadn't.

Thomas was lying in the small bed, the only thing actually visible from this big heap of human was his arm.

It was covered in bandages. It started at his shoulder and stopped at his wrist.

It looked bad.

Blood had bled through.

"Thomas..?" She asked uncertainly.

The form on the bed shifted.

"Yeah?" He answered, his voice hoarse.

"Thank god." She heard Minho mutter under his breath as they both walked fully into the room and over by his bed.

His arm looked even worse up close, even though she couldn't see it, the bandages proves it.

"Hey, Thomas," She said. "How ya feeling?"

"Peachy." He said sarcastically.

"I think you've taken after Minho, you're so sarcastic now." She said.

Minho smiled proudly. "I am a great mentor."

Bree rolled her eyes, but it was kind of true. Minho was the one who taught her about the maze and ran with her.

"You're such a lucky shank. You could've gotten killed!" Bree told Thomas.

He groaned. "I know. I almost did."

"And it wasn't a griever? It was a giant bug?" Minho asked hopefully.

Thomas nodded. "Haven't seen anything like it before."
