Chapter 12

Chase's P.O.V.

My wolf was crying out for my mate and, to be honest, I wanted her just as badly.

"Hey, Chase, have you seen Rylie?" Kylie asked as I came into the kitchen. I was about to reply when someone else did.

"She's in a meeting with Alpha Dan," Faira said, quietly from her seat.

"Was in a meeting," someone said and I turned around to see my mate. Her eyes where red and her voice was scratchy, as if she's been screaming at the top of her lungs.

"What was it about?" Kylie asked.

"Stuff," her twin replied, shrugging her shoulder and getting a cup of water, downing it in seconds. I watched as she smiled at me and headed to her room.

"Look, I know that it's probably really hard for you, what with her ignoring you, but I have only seen her smile to people she cares about," Kylie said quietly while looking at her hands.

"What happened to her to make her like this?" I asked-no- begged to know what happened.

"I wish I could tell you but it's not my story to tell, It's hers," she said, looking at me, years wisdom flashed in her eyes before she walked away.

"Um, Chase?" someone called and I turned around to see Rylie standing there. "Do you want to go on a run?"

"Sure," I replied a bit too quickly but I didn't care.

We walked out to the forest and she went behind a tree to shift and I did the same. She stepped out and I took time to admire her wolf. Her jet black fur was even darker then mine and the white wings on her face made her eyes pop.

She gave me a wolfy smirk before taking off.

Oh it is on.

I raced after her, smirking as I nipped her back leg playfully. She looked back at me, gave me another smirk before she left me in the dust. I slowed to a jog and looked around, confused. I felt something hit my head and I turned around to see her there, her smirk on full blast.

We took off again sticking together and playing around when we heard a waterfall up ahead. She ran faster and I followed her lead. I could see the waterfall and we boosted our speed once again. We where three feet away before she stopped and I was going to fast to stop... which meant I got a bath.

I walked over to the shallow bit of the lake and glared at her as she howled with laughter. I smirked and shook my fur out on her. She stopped laughing and gave me a death glare.

We stayed at the lake for a while before heading back. We where almost at the Pack house when she stopped. I stopped as well and grabbed a long shirt and shorts from a tree, handing her the shirt and I went behind a tree, shifted and put on the shorts. I came out again and saw her pacing around in the small clearing.

Her eyes blurred and went back to normal. Three minutes later, Kylie came into the clearing and headed to her sister.

"Are you sure, Ry?" She said and Rylie nodded.

Rylie opened and closed her mouth, "God, there is no way to say this," she said, frustrated.

"Start at the beginning and I will fill in anything you missed," Kylie said.

"Chase, what I am going to tell you is going to be hard to understand, so I need you to just listen and we will answer any questions you have afterwards, okay?" she asked and I nodded in confusion.

"Good, now our names aren't really Rylie and Kylie Taylor, they where names The Council gave us when we where sent here. 2000 years ago, Kylie and I died and we where reborn as," she paused and Kylie took her hand. "As Angels. We where both apart of a team called The Council Warrior, so were our parents before they where tortured in front of us, when we where still human, and died. I was killed and my sister died in an accident. We where both Light Angels until my greed got ahead of me and got the man I loved killed. As punishment, The Council made me a Dark Angel. I was still apart of the Warriors and Kylie and I went on many missions, saving lives and species alike. We did that for 2000 years until that day you found us in the woods. The Council thought that we had stolen The Balance, which is a scale that keeps every being balanced between good and evil, and they kicked us out. But before we fell through the portal connecting Earth and Heaven together, Thea, a member on The Council, put wolf spirits into us," She finished and I ran a hand through my hair
