Chris didn't waste any time getting us both out of there. I was at a loss for words. Literally, just stood there in complete shock. Deceit spent 15 years in that and with that thing... Yet he doesn't show any damage. He doesn't show how much he broke there. I guess he is Deception after all.

"Logan..." I looked over at Chris and nodded. There's more to see... I'm not sure I want to after that though. I took a deep breath and followed him in past the ominous black door. The first thing I noticed it was cold. Not Ice Age cold but still... It's a good thing I still had the coat. The second thing was all the flippin locks were still there, untouched and dusty but there. I cringed at the memory of what I had just seen that that long ago.

I spotted Deceit on his bed flipping through his phone. Like Virgil does on Tumblr all the time. I walked over and laid next to him so I could see what he was looking at. My heart dropped. He was on Tumblr, figures, looking at all these all these pictures about him. Or more correctly the current Sanders Sides Villain. He saw one about him and Virgil and saw the rage roll off of him. He threw the phone right at the window... Breaking it. The response was immediate. He was instantly behind the bed and in the fetal position before I even knew he had moved.

"It's ok... You're ok... Caz, your ok." He started mumbling to himself again and it was like watching a 5-year-old trying to calm his little sibling down. It broke my heart. How did we not know how fragile this guy really was? "Just breathe... In 4... hold 7... out 8... Right, Virgil?" He stopped short, lifting his head and frowning. "Right."

"Chris?" There was no reply. I looked around and nothing. He was gone! AGAIN! "THE FUCK YOU KEEP RUNNING OFF TO CHRIS?!"

There was a knock on the door and Deceit jumped up on to the bed at the sudden sound. When the knocking didn't stop, he sighed brushing himself off and straightening his shirt. I spotted a bit a purple as he fixed his gloves and I cringed. So that was why he wore those.

He opened the door to reveal a very smiley Patton staring back with a plate of cookies. The very same cookies that he had offered Virgil before their fight. Deceit looked at him cautiously before reaching out to take one.

"What do you want, Patton?" Deceit hissed as he ate the cookie. Patton just shrugged. "Then why are you here?"

"Guess I was a little lonely. Thought you might want some company. Since you're always alone." Deceit just scoffed causing him to choke a little.

"So is Virgil, and does he want company?"

"Yes." Patton replied without no hesitation. Deceit sighed and just left, leaving the door open for Patton to follow him. Patton set the cookies on the desk and stared at the broken glass on the floor. I watched as he closed his eyes and sighed before putting that smile back on his face. "What happened here, kiddo? "

"Dragons."I cringed... and so did Patton, who laughed awkwardly as the tension grew. "So is there any particular reason you decided you wanted me to keep you company?"

"Well, not really. Virgil is mad at me right now. Logan isn't answering his door. Roman is busy..."

"So I'm was the only option. I'm glad." Deceit said as he started picking the glass up off the floor.

"That wasn't where I was going with that... Be careful!" Deceit yelled out as a piece of glass cut his hand and Patton ran for the first aid kit in his room. I saw Deceit's face drop when he saw what had happened. It cut through his glove. He jumped up and started locking the door.

He slowly pulled off the glove and I winced at he whimpered from the pain. Soon his glove was on the ground and he pulled out a small first aid kit from his drawer. A first aid kit that Patton obviously didn't know he had.

"He did. Patton's was just better. Deceit's is... small." I spun around to see Chris leaning against the wall, his hands in his pocket. "Doesn't matter. Patton isn't coming back so it's a good thing he has one."

"What do you he's not coming back? Patton's not just going to ignore someone that's hurt." I saw Chris's eyes darken before shaking himself from his thoughts and smiling.

"He heard the locks. Realized Deceit wasn't just going to let him in after that... He's been through it even with Virgil to know." That makes sense. I looked back over at Deceit and frowned. His whole hand was purple... bruised and burnt. I watched as he struggled to get the button up off. He grunted in pain when he moved his arm back tossing the shirt over to the side.

"Deceit..." I whispered out as I looked in horror at what had happened to him. His entire right side was burnt and purple. Vains traveled down his arm tracing the long scar that went from his neck to his wrist.

"You'd never know." I looked back at Chris who was just staring at his feet. "He got so used to fooling himself, that fooling us was hardly a challenge." Deceit wrapped up his hand and collapsed on his bed.

"Your name is Caz. Your 17. His name is Virgil. He's 17. Your best friend is just down the hall. If you want some company you can just go see him. Otherwise, you're fine. He's fine. You're fine." He was lying to himself again. Was this how he coped with things? Was this how he coped with everything? "You don't need anyone, and they don't need you. As long as your in your room your safe, right? There's no need to hide when your here. There's no need to hide..."

He struggled to pull the blanket over him as he just laid there staring at the wall. Chris came over and took my hand, leading me out the door again.

"How come no one has seen how broken he is?" I said as soon as we entered the hallway. Chris just looked over at me and sighed.

"I told you. He's too good at what he does." I pulled my hand out of Chris's and he stopped short.

"Where, the hell, were you?" He gave me this look of confusion and I narrowed my eyes. "Earlier you vanished from the room and it wasn't the first time either."

"This is the present, Logan."

"So!" He just smiled as he took my hand in his again.

"Meaning I was doing something. I was with someone. If I randomly vanished from the present having had some sort of social interaction there would have been a paradox." That makes sense... albeit a little. That would explain, why he always takes me when I'm by myself.

"If that's the case, why did you come back?"

"Isn't it obvious?" I shook my head and he laughed. "I was done, silly."
