"Virgil? Where..." My face paled and I looked away as the intense feeling of guilt washed over me. Patton's eyes darkened and he looked down at the broken trait in his arms, tears already beginning to well up. "What happened?"
"He's gone, Pat. He's just... gone." Roman coughed out between sobs and Patton tensed up. "There was this monster and he... he... h-he told Logan to leave him."
"And you just did?" I watched the tears spill from his eyes and felt my chest begin to seize up. I told them it was dangerous. I told him, he should have come. But they did... They both did and I couldn't keep them safe. Patton jumped up despite the obvious pain and stumbled over to me grabbing my arms for support. "You could go back."
"Patton..."
"NO! You could go back. Bring him home... You could save him. Right?" I looked away and Roman just stared at us.
"What does he mean you can go back? You can save him?" I started to shake my head and Patton just rolled his eyes. "Logan, what does he mean?"
"I-I can't..."
"YES, YOU CAN!" Patton yelled, throwing his arms out and causing himself to lose balance. Roman caught him as he started to fall and put him back in the chair, even though he was fighting the entire time. I could tell he wanted to hit me. His face was filled with grief and disbelief. "Y-You can... You can do so much more than I ever could. I know you can. I... I ca't do anything anymore. So you have to be... You have to be able too. Right?"
"Patton, I can't..."
"Why?" He started shaking again and I clenched my fists as the room slowly started getting darker. "Why won't you go back?"
"I. can't."
"Why?!"
"BECAUSE, I'M TOO EMOTIONAL!" Everyone stopped and stared at me as I started to shake. I held out my hand and felt the rush of wind. Patton's eyes went wide as this bubble appeared in my hand. It was glitchy and black. The only thing I could make out was the subtle purple that would show up. "I cant. I want to, but I can't. I couldn't save Roman. I couldn't save Virgil. I couldn't do anything. I-If I-I tried..." I fell to my knees and Patton just stared at me, eyes wide in shock. I want'ed nothing more than to go back. I wanted nothing more than to have never brought them. The one time I want so desperately to change the past and my emotions, the ones I always said I didn't have, were preventing me from doing so. I slowly staggered to my feet and walked myself over to the window. My mind now numb and unfeeling. I looked over at Deceit and sighed. "How did you get here?"
"W-What?" Deceit started looking around at everyone as if expecting us to snap at him. I couldn't even make myself feel sorry for him. I couldn't feel anything. I was numb. I was cold. I had to get them out of here. I-I can't lose any more. I WON'T LOSE ANYMORE!
"How did you get here?" He looked over at Patton and ran a hand through his hair. I didn't even notice he was missing his hat and one of his gloves. His clothes were torn and he had a cut down his snake eye. Just what did they fight... "Deceit?"
"I took the stairs." I raised an eyebrow at him, almost thinking he was lying. I mean stairs really? But the look in his eyes stopped me from saying anything. "T-The same ones I took to leave."
"Wait, you mean you knew about them too?" Roman asked and I got lost. You mean to tell me there were fucking stairs to the Dark Realm this entire time. "How? There..."
"Colt showed me them. He... He was the reason I was able to get out?"
"Whose Colt?" Patton froze up and Deceit looked away. "Whose Colt?"
"Colt and Willow... The Realm Twins..." Patton barely whispered their names and I saw the absolute fear in his eyes. "Willow... She's the one that... s-sent me here."
"What?"
"They sent you here... WHY?" Deceit covered his ears as Roman yelled out, making us all flinch a little. I looked over to see Kiara standing there just watching everyone in the corner of the room. She kept glancing over at Deceit and looking away. Virgil was too young to be recognized but she obviously remembers Deceit.
"That doesn't matter." Roman was going to yell again when Patton shot him a look shutting him up. "Facts are we can't fight them. They're too strong. The best thing to do is to get you all home without drawing their attention."
"Get US all home, you mean." Patton's eyes went dark and I shook my head. "I DID NOT COME ALL HIS WAY AND LOSE MY FUCKING SON JUST TO LEAVE YOU BEHIND. GET YOU ASS UP! WE'RE LEAVING." I stormed out of the house leaving them all frozen in shock at my outburst.
"He isn't dead." I look over to see Kiara standing there, hands in her pocket, and she started off in no particular direction. "Fear... He isn't dead."
"What do you mean?" She looked over at me and smiled sadly before looking back out at nothing. "Fear is the strongest out of all of us. He always was. He was the only one who kept us all safe. When he disappeared..."
"Why do you keep calling him Fear?" She sighed and ran a hand through her hair.
"Because that's what he is... Fear. Even as a little kid he just radiated with it. Just walking into a room and this sense of dread would wash over you. It made you stop in your tracks and you would almost feel... I don't know anxious." I narrowed my eyes at her in confusion and she shook her head. "He's almost as strong as Colt. In fact, he and that snake in there were Dark realm favorites. Colt babied the shit out of them."
"I'm confused..."
"Deception and Fear were this unstoppable duo. The strongest pair here. Deception alone wasn't much but he was a force to be reckoned with when they were together. At first, Colt was just happy to see promising sides, but he grew attached. I can't believe Colt Sanders... Dark Realm personified help Deception escape his own domain."
"Kiara..."
"Fear isn't dead. At least..." She looked over at me and stopped when the others started to pour out of the house. Patton leaning on Roman, as they made their way over. "At least not by the same monsters that would protect him."
