Chapter 26
"Do I have to wear these?" I asked holding up my hands as the handcuffs jingled.
The officer glanced at me and looked away.
"I mean I came here willingly. It's not like I resisted arrest or something." he stood there blankly staring ahead.
I sighed and stared at the flickering light on the ceiling.
"You guys should fix that light." I pointed up at the florescent light. He glanced at it and looked back at the wall.
I tapped my fingers on the table. I wish they'd just hurry up so we can find Connor and Sheilah would forgive me. Because this wasn't my fault.
There was a knock on the door and the officer left the room and two new officers entered.
"Paige Perez. I'm Detective Turner and this is Detective Peters. We have some questions for you." she said. She pulled her blonde hair up in a ponytail and looked at me with her piercing blue eyes.
I nodded my head and swallowed.
"Where's Connor?" she asked.
"I don't know." I said
"A child is missing. A child that was in your care is gone." Detective Peters said slamming his hands on the table and startling me "I suggest you remember or you could be looking at some serious time."
I could feel my face getting hot and my heart started beating quickly.
"I-I swear I don't know. I don't remember. You can't send me to jail." My voice cracked.
"Relax. As long as you had nothing to do with it you'll be fine." Det. Turner said.
I nodded my head trying to calm down.
"Now why don't you tell us what you remember from the beginning of that day."
"I woke up at 8 in the morning"

My alarm on my phone went off. I looked up and all I could see was darkness. I groaned and buried my head into the pillow hoping the sound would stop.
"Shut that shit up!" Anthony shouted. I jumped out of bed and turned it off quickly. Why did I set an alarm again?
I checked the name of the alarm.
Anthony's Flight
"Babe you gotta get up." I touched his shoulder "You're gonna miss your flight" he groaned and rolled over.
I got up and opened the curtains letting in the sunlight.
"Wake up" I straddled him and pulled the cover off of his face. He looked at me and sighed.
"You lucky you fine. Anyone else would get killed for waking me up" he rolled over and straddle me.
"No no no. We don't have time for this you need to get to the airport." I tried to wiggle from under him but he wasn't budging.
"Come on just a quickie." he kissed my neck and I sighed annoyed
"You're gonna be late." I pushed him but he just kept kissing me.
"Come on you know you want to." he said sucking on my earlobe.
"Anthony I said no." I tried to push him again but he was too heavy.
"At least get me off before I go." he said
"Seriously? No get off!" I pushed him with all my might and he finally jerked back.
