"I see you working it sexy" Paige laughed. I looked out of the front window and there was Paige sitting in her car. Chase followed my eyes and saw Paige and waved.
"I gotta go. See you at 7" I said skipping towards the car giddily.
Chapter 3
"So let me get this straight." Paige had been harassing me about Chase from the moment I entered the car. "You asked him out?" I sighed.
"Yes Paige. Yes... Can you get that through your thick skull and leave me alone?" I begged.
"I'm just shocked. You being that spontaneous? That's new." Paige nodded impressed. For some reason I was beaming with pride.
"So. I have an extra pair of coconuts you can wear and I'll pull into-"
"Woah woah woah..." I interrupted. "Coconuts I can wear?"
"You know I have coconut bikinis. I'm wearing one to get Anthony to notice me and you can wear one for Chase." Paige explained as if this was the most logical thing in the world.
"You know that's not happening." I said flatly.
"I know but it was worth the shot" Paige said.
As soon as we got home we went into a frenzy. Paige got in the shower and I went to my closet. I pulled out every outfit and I went through nearly every outfit. I have no idea what to wear. I'd almost given up until I thought of a dress that Paige owned. I quickly stole it from her closet and hid it before she came out of the bathroom.
"I'm coming out!" I announced before I revealed my look to Paige. I emerged from the bathroom and looked at my shocked roommate. I giggled and did a twirl for good measure.
"Wow... You look better than I do in that dress" Paige's dress was a sunset orange with palm tree print. It had a halter top and it flowed and gathered at the skirt. I curled my hair up just for the occasion.
Chase arrived at exactly 7. Before I could stop her, Paige opened the door in her coconuts and grass skirt.
"Um, Paige wow" Chase's eyes were wide and glued on her chest. Paige flipped her hair all to obviously enjoying the attention. I cleared out my throat to get both of their attention.
"Oh... um...Sheilah you look beautiful" Chase said still flustered from Paige's coconuts.
"Yeah." I said rolling my eyes "Anyway can we go before we're late"
"I'll drive and you guys can follow" Paige said walking outside.
Chase opened the car door for me and I plopped down in the car. I crossed my arms and angrily and pouted. The car ride awkward and silent until Chase decided to talk halfway through it.
"Look Sheilah I'm sorry about earlier. I was distracted.
I snorted. Distracted. If I hadn't interrupted he would've stared at her chest all night.
"Ok. I was being a pig. I even forgot to give you this" Chase pulled out a small plastic container and handed it to my. I reluctantly opened it and found a beautiful bright red hibiscus.
"For me?' I asked with big puppy dog eyes. Chase nodded. I picked up the gorgeous flower and held it delicately in my hand.
"Here" Chase picked it up out of my hands and placed it behind my ear at a red light. "You look beautiful" Chase said smiling. I beamed with joy and forgot about my past anger.
"Aloha" said the two hula girls as they put leis around our necks.
"I thought that this was a theme party not an authentic luau?" Chase said taking in the party's atmosphere.
