Hiccup
My tired legs walked through the front door. Carrying the weight of today. I dumped a bunch of my stuff at the door - I'll pick it up later.
"Hiccup, is that you?" Astrid's voice came from upstairs.
"No it's someone else who just comes in to your house without an invitation or even to knock and dumps their crap at the door." I answered sarcastically.
"Oh, Hi Snotlout." Astrid replied cheekily.
"How was your day." I asked her, as she kissed me hello.
"Eehhh. I was sick this morning." She asked, although she didn't seem that annoyed by the sudden illness.
"What, are you okay?" I asked.
"I'm fine." She relied, not elaborating.
"So... how was yours?" She asked me.
"Long, tiring, lots of people wanting lots of stuff, a normal day really." I answered.
"I might have something to cheer you up... or make you worry and overprotective. Probably both." She said, a bit of a mysterious tone in her voice.
"Oh yeah?" I asked. I let her lead me outside, where the sun was setting over Berk and everything was just ... perfect.
"I have something to tell you." She said, kind of sounding nervous.
"Go ahead." Her behaviour making me feel a bit nervous.
"I'm pregnant." She said, smiling shyly at me.
"Wha- Astrid that's amazing!" I kissed her, and held her close.
We spent the next few minutes being excited and happy. But once that quietened down and we were sitting watching the last orange glow of the sunset fade into dark blue and stars, Astrid spoke.
"I'm scared." She said.
"I know, I am too." I replied.
"What if I lose it again?" She asked, getting emotional.
"Don't think like that, it's not healthy." I tried to calm her.
"But, I've lost two before, I'm probably losing this one as well." She answered negatively.
"Don't look back on what you've lost, just focus on what you've just gained," l told her.
"What exactly have I gained?" She questioned me.
"A Hope,"
