Chapter 13

Astrid

"Hey Hiccup! I think I'm starting to show!" I yelled down the stairs. Hiccup ran up and came to take a look.

"Maybe, or it might just be that Yak that Gobber cooked for dinner tonight." He teased.

"Mm, am I pregnant or just greedy?" I questioned jokingly.

"Both." Hiccup said instantly. When I glared at him he continued, "Hey, you ate both of your chops, then both of mine!"

I just shrugged. "You offered."

"Yeah - a bite."

"I'm eating for two!" I argued.

"Yeah, is our child gonna love yak chops as much as their mother?" He asked my stomach.

"Most definitely! Hear that baby Haddock?" I played along, running my hand over my debated baby or food bump.

"What do you reckon, is it the start of my baby bump?" I asked him.

"I think so, it was kind of like that yesterday, wasn't it?" He asked.

"Yeah." I replied. Then I squeal slightly. "Yay! I'm pregnant!"

"That has been established." Hiccup confirmed.

I laughed and laid next to him on our bed. "We should tell Berk." He insisted.

"We should..." I agreed unwillingly. "But I don't want to disappoint them!"

"You won't! Astrid's they'll be thrilled." He insisted.

"A bunch of them don't have any faith in us whatsoever."

"Screw them! They don't matter. Astrid, what matters here is you, me and this little baby, who Berk is going to adore." He told me.

"You think?" I looked for certainty.

"I know." He replied firmly.

"Okay."

We stayed in the moment silently for a minute, before he spoke. "I love you."

"And I love you."

We drifted off into a gentle sleep as the little bub inside of me rested too, our little family just perfect.

K. Just a cute hiccstrid chapter. Telling Berk next chapter, what do you think will be their reactions?

Ps, in exactly two weeks time I will have seen httyd 3, as in it'll be over, I'll know everything. All the questions I've generated about the movie over the past year will be answered in less than two weeks time.
