Chapter 16

Astrid

I heard movement from outside. I sat up and peaked out the window, it was Hiccup. He saw me, and I could physically see the wave of relief come over him.

Hiccups face and the speed he came running up the stairs made me feel guilty. He must've been worried.

"Astrid!" He held me in a hug.

"I'm sorry." Was all I replied with.

"Don't be. They're stupid, you had every reason for getting away from there. You were probably safer away from the fights anyway." He told me.

We sat down and looked around. "It's so different.. yet exactly the same."

"And this is just my hut." I replied.

"We should go for a walk," He offered.

I could protest that it was too late, too dark. Say that we both need rest, but all that came out of my mouth was "Sure."

We walked around, fire torches in our hands and Stormfly and Toothless trailing behind us. The Edge had been inhabited by many dragons. We found speed stingers in Snotlout's hut and changewings in the twins. But apart from it being dirty, dragons living in huts and plants growing in weird places, it was exactly the same.

"It sort of comforting isn't it?" I said.

"What is?"

"That we've been gone for so long and come back to it and it's pretty much the same." I explained.

"Yeah, I suppose it is," Hiccup replied smiling at me.

Hiccup sent a terror mail to Berk, apparently there's a search party going on... which is embarrassing. We pull out some old blankets and somehow fit onto my old bed.

"Goodnight," He whispered.

"Goodnight."

K. Like the shortest chapter ever.
Anyway it's Christmas Eve!!! Have you got any plans for Christmas? We're going to the beach in the morning, then to a thing for the people at my dads work that live away from their families and are spending Christmas alone. Then mums making Christmas dinner when she gets home from work.
