CHAPTER XXIV

-"We are to leave here, let's go home" Khaled said suddenly as he took the oxygen mask off her face and went to take the IV off, he seemed like he was in another world.

Oussama acted first and went to stop him, but Khaled dodged him.

-"You are hurting her" Oussama said suddenly and Khaled froze.

He lifted his eyes to look at her as she was calm on the bed with pale skin and worried eyes.

-"Honey, Darling, you wanna go home with me?" Khaled asked as he leaned to caress her face, he was acting like a kid who is fearing to loose his mother, and it pained Oussama to see him like that, even Ezra got out of the room, as much as he liked the girl, he started hating her presence, everything was perfect before she came, Khaled was more composed and strict when she wasn't here, he was more complex.

Once out of the room, he spotted the bodyguard, and walked to him.

-"Liam? Isn't it?" Ezra asked arrogantly.

-"Yes sir" Liam answered with respect and it annoyed Ezra.

-"Tell me what happened exactly" Ezra ordered.

-"The lady went to visit someone in prison, and she refused me following her, but after a few moments, we heard gunshots, so I rushed in to see a guy dead on the floor, and guards trying to get hold of a man with a gun, and some guy was on the floor with the lady in his arms unmoving, he seemed like he lost it, he was screaming in an inhuman way, it gave us goosebumps and made the whole area go silent" Liam finished with a shiver.

-"As a bodyguard, couldn't you st least do your mission correctly and protect her?" Ezra asked coldly.

-"I was ordered to protect and to obey, that's why, when she ordered me not to follow her in, I gave her my own bulletproof jacket" Liam said calmly and Ezra's eyes widened in surprise.

-"You little fucker!" Ezra smiled and Liam took it as a compliment.

-"But why is she here? Khaled almost died when he heard the news!" Ezra said annoyedly.

-"She just went into chock, and also, the gunshot was near, that's why it hurts so the brain took it seriously, but she will get some burns in the places where she got hit" Liam said and Ezra grimaced.

-"What about the other guy?" Ezra asked.

-"According to the last updates I got, one is dead, and the other lost it, while the man will be sent to prison" Liam said.

Suddenly, the room's door opened, and Khaled walked out with her in his arms covered with a warm blanket, her raven black hair swaying around, while her green eyes were half open.

-"Ezra, you take them home, the media are here, my car is outside while yours is in the parking underground, isn't it?" Oussama rushed and Ezra nodded.

-"Liam, you have the day off, enjoy it and, good job today" Oussama said as he ruffled Liam's hair and walked away.

Liam felt a secret joy bubbling inside his chest, he finally got a stable job, and a good one where he could even be treated well and praised.

Ezra was waiting patiently in the elevator with Khaled and his beautiful wife in his arms, and he pretended to be interested in the elevator's buttons when Khaled kiss her forehead from time to time.

When they reached the underground level, Ezra got out and walked to his car, opened the backseats door for Khaled to put his wife in, but he didn't get surprised as he saw Khaled getting in with his wife, so he closed the door and went to the driver side.
