CHAPTER XXXI

Journalism wasn't a profession to take advantages of facts and detour the sight of people away from the truth, no, to her, her profession was the law, bringing truth to light, people shouldn't stay in the dark, not because people are poor that they are stupid, not because they don't have power that other party can use them, not because they can't defend themselves that other parties can use and abuse them.

Journalism is the power of telling the truth when the government hides it, in a rotten system we use law to abuse, that's when journalism should take part to stop the abuse and show the whole world what's going on so then a change can be made.

She decided at some point in her life to change her life and make a good change in the lives of a lot of people in the future,

Achieng means born when the sun is shining, they say that those carrying the name tend to take their responsibilities seriously, and that's what Achieng decided to do, make the truth shine like the sun so no one can hide it.

After her last broadcast in her YouTube channel about organized crimes and terrorism, and after revealing the video that she got from the dark web via some trusted acquaintance, she never got an answer from Khaled, the successful businessman that got a lot of mystery around himself, but, it wasn't about making some rumors, it was about revealing the truth, because she was working on a case about a special criminal, and her searching led her to that video, so, she thought that by revealing the video, she was going to get some new informations to help her in her case.

Sadly for her, Khaled didn't even acknowledge her existence, so she decided to do something she never thought she would do in the past, she knows that it wasn't professional, but she also isn't a certified journalist, she is a freelancer detective journalist, her mission is to find the truth and protect.

She looked around for her bag and found it on her leather couch, at the age of 29, Achieng achieved what most people her age couldn't in the same circumstances she lived, because people like her tend to lose hope, to commit suicide, to get abused, to get kidnapped and used in human traffic, well, that's what happened to most her friends, but not her, because she got a goal, a promise that she made to someone about fifteen years ago.

She built herself, studied hard, worked hard in part time jobs, even real jobs because she was always the best, she got her dream car, her dream flat, in her dream area, even doing her dream job, not being tied or ordered around by corrupted bosses or superiors, and people loved her, she got her own fans, her own supporters, even anonymous people of law helping from the dark, because she knew from the beginning that when you threw truth to people, they will make it rise.

Achieng took her bag and walked to her door, took a last look at herself in the long mirror by the door, adjusted her long dark hair that she straightened this morning, then, put her long coat on top of her outfit that was a classy black pencil skirt with a dark red velvet silky shirt, put on her black high heels and walked out towards the elevator.

-"Guess what?" Imad said as they gathered around the BBQ feast.

-"Jason finally got to figure out the size of his crush's cleavage" Walid said calmly and Jason choked on his drink as it went all over his face and clothes.
