The prompt was "The elders go on a hike"
Connor's POV
"But I don't want to go!" I cry, stomping my foot.
Kevin sighs, resting his head in his hand. "Connor, we have to go. The village invited all of our elders to go, and you're our leader!"
"But can't the two of us just stay here alone for a few days?" I ask, taking Kevin's hand and twirling myself. He laughs despite himself, and the sight warms my heart. He's too cute- and our secret week long relationship has been the best week of my life.
"Mmm..." Kevin says, leaning closer. I tilt my head and close my eyes with happiness, but am greeted with warm breath. "No."
"You're the worst, Kevin Price," I mumble.
"You mean the best," he corrects, and I roll my eyes.
"Get packing, Elder McKinley." Kevin twirls away from me just to spite me, and I laugh despite myself.

Kevin's POV
"I regret all of my life decisions ever," I grumble, staring up at the peaks above me.
"It'll be fun!" Elder Cunningham exclaims, high fiving Elder Neeley. "We'll be great!" Nabulungi nods next to him, grinning along.
"It'll be alright, Elder," she says, putting a hand on my arm. "My father and I have hiked these peaks many times. It is very easy!"
"Easy schmeezy," I mumble. I wanted to heck etiquette, but after giving Connor such a stern talking to, I had to follow through myself. I start up the small hill at the bottom, digging the heels of my new hiking boots into the ground. I turn to look for someone to walk with, and see only Connor behind me. He's struggling to bring himself to put a foot on the slope.
"Ey, Connor!" I say, far enough from earshot of the other elders to call each other by our titles. "Come on!"
"I don't want to," Connor says, pouting.
"You're going to be left behind," I say, cocking an eyebrow.
"I'm fine with that."
"And starve."
"..."
"Yeah, I thought so." I walk back the few steps I've taken and grasp his hand, pulling him up after me. He grips my fingers from habit, and follows behind. He lags a ridiculous amount however, and I sigh. "Be like that." And I hoist him onto my back.
"Kevin!" Connor squeals. "Put me down!"
"No! You're keeping us behind!"
"The hike isn't a race, Kev."
"No, but we're losing. Hold on!" And with that, I sprint up the hill, leaving all of my anxiety behind(lol wish i could do that too kev).
Connor's POV
I laugh as Kevin continues to run after the elders and villagers. We were incredibly far behind, but all I can focus on is how easily Kevin is able to carry me. He's stronger than I realized.
Right in front of us is Elder Church and Elder Poptarts, laughing and talking as they hike with ease. Kevin sprints past them with an "On your left!" They stare at us as Kevin continues to run, me with his arms around his neck and laughing.
We pass by Mafala and Kimbe, Elder Davis and Elder Zelder. Each look as shocked as the one before. I can't care; I'm too focused on the fun I'm having by this way of transportation instead of plain ol' hiking.
We reach the practical top of the mountain in almost no time. Only Elder Cunningham and Nabulungi are ahead of us, something that puzzles us all. Kevin lets me down, and I plop on my feet, steadying myself. "Wow, okay."
Kevin laughs. "Have fun?"
"Definitely!" I say, smiling widely.
"Do you think we gave anything away?" He asks, lowering his voice.
"No," I shake my head. "I used to give Poptarts piggyback rides when we were younger. Believe me, they don't suspect a thing."
"Alright," Kevin nods. "Yeah, okay." He smiles at me, and my heart swells. I want to grab his face and kiss him, but we're in such a public place.
"Now it's time to hike down to the tents," I say, and peer over the other edge of the hill. I see the cloth tents, and roll my eyes. "Okay, Kev-"
Kevin is staring down at the tents as well, his face pale.
"Kevin?"
"We're so high up!" Kevin mumbles.
"Kevin Price!" I exclaim, grinning as Kevin turns to me, looking sick. "Are you afraid of heights?"
"N-no."
"..."
"Fine. Yes."
I laugh and clap Kevin on his back. He trembles and balances.
"You were fine just a second ago!" I insist.
"Because I wasn't paying attention! I was focusing on not dropping you instead of how high up we are."
"Come on," I say, and take his hand. His palm is sweaty, and I start down the trail. I'm not a fan of the outdoors that much, but right now I have to be the alpha of this relationship. Kevin is shaking as we walk down the stairs and I grip his hand to steady him. "Okay, alright? Left, right, left, right."
"Left, right, left, right," Kevin mutters, watching his feet.
We hike down the mountain, Kevin clutching my hand the entire time. When we finally get to the tents, Kevin sits heavily on the grass and grip the green blades tightly to center himself.
"You okay there best friend?" Elder Cunningham asks, sitting next to Kevin. Nabulungi stands next to me, also standing awkwardly.
"I'm fine," Kevin says, grinning.
"Okay!" Elder Cunningham says. "Because since Nabulungi and I are camping together, you and Elder McKinley get to share a tent.
