An aspect of this was requested by @sparklegay so hurrah sequels!

I'm really bad at author's notes lmao

Kevin's POV

"Connor!" I call out.

"What?!" A voice screams from the other room.

"Can I have some more coffee?" I ask sweetly.

"Kevin, we're not supposed to have coffee."

"Eh," I say, shrugging despite the fact that Connor can't see me. "I got addicted back when, y'know..." Right after I got the Book of Mormon shoved up my ass.

"You've already had two cups today anyways," Connor says, appearing at the door with a disgruntled look on his face. He's clearly annoyed that no one else is here to give him a break from me. Sucks to be him- he volunteered.

"Only two?"

Connor groans, and I grin. "I'm not getting you any more coffee Kevin."

I huff. "Fine, I'll get my own."

"No-" But it's too late for Connor. I'm already shuffling to my feet and haplessly grabbing my crutches from the side of my bed, sticking my plastered covered leg in front of me as I stand carefully on my other leg and stick the crutches underneath my arms.

"Don't be stupid Kevin," Connor mumbles, standing behind me in case I fall. I'm three inches taller than him, however. I'd only knock him over.

"I'm never stupid," I say, limping my way over from the couch to the kitchen. The doctor won't let me go upstairs to sleep on my own bed, preferring I stay on the main floor and sit only the sofa. This means that Connor, my volunteer caretaker, has been sleeping in a sleeping bag on the floor next to me. It's incredibly endearing to be able to roll over at night and see him next to me, adorably asleep- FLICK THE LIGHT SWITCH.

I finally reach the counter and lean my hip against it as I grab my coffee mug from a shelf (the only mug there) and reach to grab the small coffee pot I got from Mafala. I pour the warm brown liquid into my mug while standing shakily on one leg and putting the pot back.

"You good?" Connor asks, still in the Mama Bird phase after three weeks of watching after me.

"Yup," I say, sipping my coffee. Mmm.

"I'm never going to get over that mug," Connor says, snickering, causing me to laugh a little as well. It's a Mickey Mouse mug with the handle being Mickey's arm, the cup the body, and the bottom his legs. It's a classic.

"It's awesome, right?" I say

"It's awesome, right?" I say.

"Definitely," Connor says smiling. Something about the look in his eye, almost admiration, sparks something inside me. Something new that made me want to act the way I did right after I broke my leg- Why have metaphorical light switches if they're not going to work?
