AY MY DUDES WHO'S READY FOR SOME FLUFFY AF MCPRICELEY DOMESTIC STUFF?!!?!?!?!

Connor's POV

I watch as Kevin taps his fingers, carefully avoiding the cool plastic of the phone case on the glass dining table.

"Kev," I say, trying to give my voice a soothing touch. "It's fine."

"It's not fine," he hisses, and I shrink back against the counter. He closes his eyes and sighs before standing up and hugging me gently, something I very quickly reciprocate despite uneasy about the edge in his voice. "I'm sorry. I'm just..."

"I know," I murmur in his ear as he buries his face into my neck, something that can still easily give me tingles and spread a scarlet covering over my skin. "Believe me, I know."

"They said from nine to four-"

"And it's three thirty," I say, somehow giving a masked appearance of calm. "We still have half an hour. I'm sure they'll call any moment now-"

"What if they don't?" Kevin asks, drawing away slowly and carefully lifting his earthy eyes to mine, eyes filled with worry. "What if we were rejected, or what if something went wrong with-"

"Hey," I say, lifting my hands to cup his face carefully, using my fingers to gently tilt him to face me full on. "We'll be fine, okay? Even if something goes wrong now, we can always try-"

The phone rang. For once, I was not amused by Kevin's ringtone of Hakuna Matata. Kevin stares at it for a moment before slowly turning back to me.

"gEt tHe pHoNe!" I screech.

Kevin practically leaps over the counter and seizes (the day) the phone from the table, gaping at the caller ID before holding it to his ear with his eyebrows knit together furiously. "Hello?"

I walk behind him and lace my arms around his waist, stretching up a little to tuck my chin over his shoulder and trying and failing to listen to the voice on the other end.

"This is he," Kevin says slowly. He was the first one we listed.

"Uh huh."

Uh huh what?????

"Gotcha."

WHTATTAYATATATATATT

"Rea-ready now?"

NOW?!

"We can be there in ten," Kevin says, taking one of my hands from around his waist and holding it to his cheek. "Yes, of course. Thank you!"

Click.

"What?!" I ask, unwrapping my arms as Kevin turns around, slipping his hand into his pocket. He has no expression, and I feel something awful in my chest... until he pulls out his car keys and grins. "We're ready."

"AHHHHHHHHH!" I scream. "GET IN THE CAR!"

I've never run to the car faster.

Kevin paces, making it a little difficult to be comfortable in this tiny room. I can't bear to reprimand him though- he often has a lot of nervous energy. This is his outlet, and I know he might even be more anxious than I am. If that's possible.

"Mr. and Mr. Price?" A woman asks, appearing at the door. Kevin spins to face her so fast I think his neck may have cracked. I stand, almost knocking over my chair as I try to sooth my shaky fingers.

"She's here," the woman says, smiling softly. I walk forward to stand next to my husband, brushing my shoulder against his. The woman leaves for a moment before returning, holding a small bundle. It's a small ragtag bunch of grey and yellow blankets nestled in her arms. She slowly crosses the room and tucks the bundle into Kevin's arms before looking at me. "The remaining paperwork is at the front desk when you're ready."

"Thank you," I say, unable to contain my grin before returning my attention to Kevin, who hasn't payed any further attention to the woman. She nods and exits, and I look over at my husband.

A soft smile is spreading across his face, his eyes desperately focused on the baby's face. I can practically see the hearts in his pupils as he cups the infant close to his chest, lifting one finger. A dark finger reaches out to grip his large index finger, drawing it closer to the blissful baby girl's face.

"She's perfect," I mumble, leaning against him and admiring every detail of our daughter.

"Absolutely perfect... in every single way."

"What name did we decide on?" I ask, pressing a small kiss to his cheek and tracing the soft jawline of the dark skinned girl and playing with the black fuzz on her hair.

"Ella," Kevin says, smiling gently as the girl begins to suck on her thumb. "Ella Malkia Price." (According to google translate, Malkia is queen in Swahili cause this girl ain't no princess)

"Ellie," I correct.

"You wish," he says, kissing my temple.

"Let's go finish the papers," I say, scratching my neck. "You do that, and I'll check the car seat?"

"Absolutely," Kevin says, and marches off towards the desk with our daughter in his arms. I stand there, grinning after them, before sprinting off to the car. My new family was finally complete. Two kings and a queen.
