My Best Friend

I really didn't know what the title should have been so... I guess.. Crappy Chapter Title Day!

Time skip- one year later

I sat on my small cot, thinking. I seemed to do a lot of that nowadays, the only time I'm really happy is when I'm with Hamiko or thinking about Itachi. No doubt he's gotten stronger. Hami-chan and I have been training, too, and we've improved a lot. Strange things have happened though; Justus that I couldn't possibly know keep popping into my head, though I think it my be caused by Orochimaru's increased experiments on me... Just yesterday I preformed a wood style jutsu, but only the Senju clan can do that. Life sure is strange...

"Izumi-chan! Come on! Remember, we don't have training today, we can do whatever we want!" Hamiko yelled from outside my door.

"Except go outside..."

"Oh, stop being such a killjoy, come out!"

"Sure!" I smiled, Hamiko never stopped being positive...

We ended up exploring the hideout more, just to get to know it better. Boy was it big! Most of the rooms just looked like empty bedrooms though, but really, really creepy. Hamiko kept cracking jokes and me, being me, kept laughing uncontrollably. When we're having fun like this I forget about all my sorrows, it kept me sane. Suddenly we heard a voice. "Izumi. You're going to have to come with me." We looked up to see Orochimaru. "And Hamiko, you just keep away from the lab." We had no choice, she reluctantly said good luck and walked away.

After that, there was nothing. I was unconscious again, drifting into a world of nothingness...

I woke up to a throbbing headache, but this time, an intense pain on my neck, too. The straps usually binding my body were gone, so I tentatively reached to touch it, but when I did, the pain got worse, and I immediately snatched my hand away. I felt something dark emitting from it, into my body. What was it? Right on cue, Mister Pedo Bear walked in, and said, "So... It hurts, huh? This is my special curse mark... It'll feed off your chakra... But give you Senjutsu chakra... So when you become my vessel... Sage mode shall be easy! By the way... Your Kekkei Genkai has woken... You're almost ready to be the most powerful tool in history!"

"I'm NOT a tool!" I spat out, disgusted by his words.

"Oh, but you are. All Shinobi are. I have broken free from that role, though, and now I become the wielder!"

"You can shut up now, I will never be your tool."

"You are sorely mistaken, brat. You promised to be one to protect your little...friend. Do you want to break that promise?" I remained silent. "No lessons with Hamiko tomorrow, I will be teaching you... Now go." All I could do at this point was nod, and trudge away.

Time skip- night of the next day

Panting, I asked Orochimaru for a break, and thankfully, he agreed. Orochimaru had been teaching me how to use other clans' secret techniques and kekkei genkais, but by teach, I meant instruct. Surprisingly, we also worked on healing ninjutsu. A guy like that, I didn't know he could heal anyone... It felt like stealing to me though, like betraying those clans. I wasn't one of them, why do I get the right to use their techniques?

I just wish I could've been with my friend, Hamiko. It was selfish of me, but I needed someone to rely on, no matter how powerful I was. Just then, Orochimaru came up to me. "There's one more step to make you my perfect tool..."

"Yes, Orochimaru? What is it?" I questioned.

"Hamiko is your best friend, right?"

"Y..yes" I stuttered. I don't like where this is going...

"When you're sparring tomorrow... I want you to kill her."

"WHAT?!? NO! I WON'T DO THAT!" I shouted in utter disbelief.

"Yes, you will. If not... I'll just kill your family... And your friend..." (Stupid threat, I know... Sorry)

"You're not strong enough to do that!"

"I'll force the curse mark to activate... And have the chakra dispelled to me. After all, you have a lot... Of course I can kill them." I gulped. What a terrible thing to do.. My best friends life in exchange for my family's... And Itachi's.

After a minute, I took a deep, shaky breath. "H..h..hai," I finally managed out, tears pouring from my eyes.
