Time Skip! A day later...

Izumi's POV-

As I jumped from tree to tree searching for Shisui, I kept thinking about Itachi's personality quirks. How he flinches at the mere mention of Shisui... And his usual calm and quiet nature replaced by a brisk and bossy one. Needless to say, I was suspicious. Thinking to relay a message to him, I summoned one of our crows... And nearly fell off the branch I surprise and horror.

The crow's left eye... It was Shisui's. Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan... How could it be here? Unless.... Itachi? Or maybe Shisui did it himself? I turned around and started heading to the village. Itachi is going to explain this to me.

Walking into the Uchiha compound, I saw Itachi sitting on his front porch, as usual. After I greeted Mikoto, I sat down next to him. Instead of scorching closer to me like he usually did, he inched away.

"Explain EVERYTHING with Shisui. Now," I demanded, not taking no for an answer.

He looked at me warily, but sighed. "Just hear me out, okay..?"

"Alright then."

I shouldn't have agreed to that. When he was done, silent tears were streaming down my face, and a white hot anger- for nobody in particular- went through me. "I understand... I'm mad, but not at you. I don't think..."

He nodded and right on cue, when he opened his mouth a panting Uchiha came in. "The... Our elders want to see you." He said to Itachi. "You, come with. The Hokage also wants to see you guys." He walked away and we scurried behind him, trying not to wander too far and not go too clothed goose. Either way, when we entered a meeting room, the Uchiha elders were waiting for us.

"Should Izumi go...?" I asked tentatively.

Itachi shook his head and Fugaku said, "no, no, stay. We've got... Matters to talk about. Shisui's suicide, to be exact." Both Itachi and I tensed up, but apparently he didn't notice because he continued talking. "As we found out yesterday, Shisui left a death note (DEATH NOTE! >~<) and committed suicide. We find this odd, Shisui didn't seem to be acting strange, or anything. You two are his closest friends... But we have a reason that one of you might have committed the crime." Many people in the room pointedly stared at Itachi.

"No, no no. Tachi didn't do it, he's waay too busy being a double agent for you humans." I snapped. "Besides, I know that Itachi wouldn't POSSIBLY do such a thing! He's very faithful to his friends! If Itachi did it, he wouldn't be able to like with himself. Anyone who disagrees can... Fight me." I looked all of the elders in the eye. They looked astonished by my seriousness; I was usually childish and naive sounding. And they provably didn't want to fight me because... Well, I have a few tricks up my sleeve.

Fugoku sighed and looked at us both. Itachi was super tense and was super angry. "You two may go now. We'll talk this out."

We nodded, forced a bow, and left. "Thank you," Itachi said.

"All for you... Next time you do something.... Tell me. My nindō is to protect the people I love... And you're one of them,"
