Izumi's POV

I landed quietly through the Hokage's open window, with Itachi right behind me. The Hokage looked up at us, and sighed. "I've been expecting you two. Please follow me to the conference room, the elders want to talk about some matters," He got up and we quickly followed. When we reached the conference room, we could hear quiet arguing on the other side. The council of elders consisted of three people, Homura Mitokado, Koharu Utatane, and Danzō Shimura. When we walked in, the arguing stopped (seriously, why so self conscious?) and the Hokage took a seat and started talking. "We called you here because, one, you two are connected to the Kimikoto and Uchiha coup de'tat, and two, you two are some of the most elite and dangerous ninja of this this village. Before we go into detail about this, we need to know... Are you two completely and utterly faithful to Konoha? Enough so that you would... Kill your family for it?"

That was the one question I feared the most. Do I? I looked up at Itachi, who was standing next to me. Examined his face... The face if the boy I've grown to love. I gulped. "Yes... Yes, I am." Even if I have to live with the pain and shame; the utter misery, I would push through it. How? Because Itachi would be at my side. Always. After a moment of silence, a Itachi said the same thing. The Hokage nodded, and continued.

"We need to stop this, and before, we thought that killing everyone would be the last resort. Unfortunately, there aren't any options left, with Shisui's mission failed. I know this is going to be very, very hard on you, but we have no choice. So I'm assigning both of you on your last mission. To... Kill your clan, and keep peace in the village. Afterwards, since you two would be known as rogue ninja, you are to spy on a criminal group called the Akatsuki. You will join them and secretly pass messages to us. And... Izumi, Itachi, I am so sorry.... There aren't any choices left."

After a moment of silence Danzō got up and said, "I do believe this meeting is over and the matter is settled. Itachi and Izumi, could you please come with me afterwards? I have something to discuss. Privately.
