The demon observes me with interested eyes. The way he moves strikes me as peculiar. Almost surreal and somehow...majestic. Like watching a tiger up close and personal. While staring into it's orange, marble-like eyes. Face to face with an animal that could kill you by the time you finished blinking. Yet it bears something undeniable beauty both inside and out. That forces you to stop and stare in awe. And this demon has it.
It was pure and just barely contained power I was sensing. The kind that spells death.
"Don't be afraid. I merely came to strike some sort of deal." The demon stretches out both arms invitingly. A gesture that didn't suit a monster like him. "After all my fragile companion, you were the one who made this is all possible."
Made this all possible? Just exactly what is he getting at? Is he toying with me? Does he think this is all just a game to him?!
"Well count me out. I'm not like my sister. I won't sell myself out for anyone." I say confidently. Any other time I would be shivering in fear. But I was running on a high. Fighting monsters have made me somewhat resilient. "And besides, where is my sister anyways? What have you done with her?!"
"Nothing in particular. She is perfectly safe under my rein." The demon stretches out his left arm. A mirror trimmed in decorative wood and demonic eyes appear before me. A girl with long black hair shows within its reflection. Showcasing her apparently walking down a long, dimly lit hallway with candles from a high view. "As long as she stays my familiar, I can guarantee you no harm will come to her. For I am Lord Ominga, the strongest existence man has ever known."
I grimace. Tons of questions pop into my head. I wanted to know why my sister betrayed us. How did she come across someone like him? And how come I was left in the dark?
It always struck me as weird. Back when she was the only one not tied with ropes. I never questioned her about it. Because I didn't think twice of the act. I never had any real reason to be suspicious of Sammie. She was someone I could trust naturally. Despite her moody character.
Now that I look back at it. She raised a lot of red flags back then. How she openly denied that she had my spell book. Why she never told about when I used that spell that fateful night. How come her hands were never tied with ropes, and how she accused Tammy of treason. She was trying to pin the blame on someone else. And Tammy was the perfect suspect.
"Alas, now that I've encountered you this close, I see now that you are a rather unique existence as well." The demon licks his lips.
"What was that?" I growl threateningly, but also taking a wise step back.
"I've always found you rather...fascinating. Out of all the creatures in this world, all the billions of souls though out countless eras, only a rare few manages to spark my tastes like you have. Maybe its due to those eyes of yours. If I could find the word them it would be...they can precieve what I cannot. And your soul... " The demon leans in closer. Makes a squinting gesture that made me feel dozens of fiery needles prickle against my skin. He's using magic to search me.
He returns to his previous stance. "You're an odd one, Freddie Mason. It would be wise to keep an eye on you. But one last thing...I know why your sister betrayed you."
