Surrounded by an untold number of demons. All anxious to devour us whole. Deep in the pits of a world taken straight from hell. Cut off from the real world. Unable to contact anyone. The only thing we can depend on is ourselves. Our numbers may be small. But at least...with magic on our side we can make the impossible--possible. We can go out in our final glory. To give it our all in this last fight.

I might not last long. Especially up against thousands of demons. But at least I'mma go out fighting. I will not let these monsters kill me that easily. I won't give them the satisfaction.

Tammy stares death in the face. Her sights locked on Lord Ominga. Despite him being a demonlord. The most powerful amongst demons. She stands there with not an ounce of fear. None once so ever.

How can someone be this brave? It kills me how she can stand so confident like that. But another part of me can't help but to admire her. She is, without a doubt, the strongest person I know.

"Freddie-" Tammy says.

"I know" I grumble, stepping up to stand beside her. Ready to fight. When she suddenly hands me her spell book. I stare at it. Not knowing what this could possibly mean. "Why did you-"

"Your fight is not with us." Tammy says briefly. Still staring at the power duo in front of us. "That book contains two very important things. It contains the location of the Demonic Pillar. Rumor has it, it is known to being tied to these foul creatures origins. In any case, it is something that needs to be destroyed. And the spell to do so is on the very next page."

I stare at the book. Suddenly feeling the pressure weigh down on my shoulders. That courage I had before was gone. Now...I was feeling the early stages of panic--vulnerability.

"Before you destroy the pillar. I want you to take Frankie and Sophie with you. Don't try to be the hero, and join this fight." Tammy explains. She then looks directly into my eyes. "I repeat. Don't play the hero. Under any circumstances do you dare come back to help me. But judging by how you're looking now, I doubt you would do such a thing, and doing so doesn't make you a coward. So if you feel the urge to run...no one would blame you."

"That's crazy talk!" I protest. "You mean to tell me you plan on facing these demons alone? That's bullshit, Tammy! And who said I was planning on running away?! I'm different now! I can face these monsters head on! And you know that!"

Tammy turns a blind ear. Two twin blades slip out from her sleeves. The same swords those bandits used before. They glow with charged red magic.

"You don't belong in this world, Freddie. Nor do any of your friends." Tammy starts walking towards the demons. While she constantly flicks her blades. Bracing herself to use them. "Which means that this was never your fight to begin with. And you know what that means right?"

"What?" I croak, fearing the answer. Because somewhere deep inside. I believe I already know the answer. The painful truth that I have been denying this whole time. Something that I wished would never come true.

"That we were never meant to be together." It ends on that sour note. Tammy nods her head in agreement. She then gives me a weak grin. Her eyes misty. She then quickly looks away. To avoid my gaze.
