I swoop through the air like a bullet. Slicing through several flying demons. Cutting their bodies in half. Watching them disintegrate into ash. Two more come flying towards me. I slow to a gliding halt. They push me back by pecking with their becks. I dodge all of their attacks. Dive in low. Then pierce my sword upwards though one's underbelly.

The creature screeches. A shower of guts and blood splashes down on me. As the flames suddenly set the demon on fire. Burning it into a crisp within seconds.

I float back. Breathing heavily. Without even uttering a word, my body heats up like a furnace. The blood quickly boils away and leaves me dry in no time. I was burning through my reserves of magic like oil. But I keep at it. Mowing down eight more winged demons. Until one of them drills their beak deep into my stomach.

I grimace in pain. The demon pecks freely at my insides. Easily tearing through my stomach walls. Pulling out my intestines. Devouring huge chunks at a time. I watch in horror. Too shocked to do anything.

"Freddie!" Frankie shouts. Before I could look back. Two more giant birds start to peck at my shoulders. Pulling out chunks of my flesh. Greedily munching on red hunks of my flesh. Blood dripping from their becks, as they rear their heads back, and greedily dive in to tear me open some more.

"Get...off of me!" I howl at the top of my lungs.

The magic within me sends out a shockwave. Knocking all the demons back. They flap their wings in unison. All circling around me. But then they retreat. Flying back to where ever they came from.

I slowly start to descend. Too worn out to keep myself afloat. The magic within me is fading fast.

Frankie comes to my aid. He lifts my arm over his shoulder. Then signals for Sophie to follow our lead. As the three of us descend. Until we manage to touch ground. The moment we land. I collapse onto the hard ground. Wheezing uncontrollably. Blood seeping through every wound. I was in bad shape. Too exhausted to even save Tammy.

"I feared something like this would happen." Frankie growls. Shaking under his breath. Fist trembling. He was in no better shape than me. One of his arms got ripped off. His clothes are torn all over. And he has bits of his flesh missing as well. "That bitch! Just wait until I get my hands on her! She's gonna pay for this."

"Don't do it." I strain my voice. Frankie looks up in surprise. I find the strength to stand on my own two feet. "Don't focus on that right now. We need to survive. But finding her is top priority. I can actually still sense her aura. She's close. Really close."

"I can sense her too." Sophie says. She looks up towards the red sky. "She's fighting off some demons of her own. Much bigger and fiercer than the ones we faced. I just hope she can make it out alive."

"She's tougher than you think. Hell, this should be child's play to her." I chuckle. The other two start laughing with me. Feeling just as relieved as me. That kind of thing seems to happen. Right after coming out of some dire situation alive. It feels good knowing I can laugh again.

"Hey, your wounds have healed." Frankie steps closer. Inspecting my wounds.

I inspect myself. Raising up my shirt. To reveal that everything was completely healed. I gasp in shock. As one wound was still in the process of healing. Thick strands of steam rise from my open cut. My broken skin starts to seal itself together. Regenerating new skin. It closes completely within a matter of seconds.

"That's new." I mumbled. Then I realize that my wings are still intact. I peer over my shoulder. They feel weird just being there. These wings almost feel like an extra set of limbs. I can move them just as easily as I do with my arms. It's eerie.
