Tammy conducts another one of her portal spells. Standing right in front of a gray, brick wall. Frankie and Sophie are busy chatting noisily. Laughing and exchanging jokes. They sure do make one helluva cute couple. I'm almost envious of them. They can talk so freely amongst other. Without hardly any effort on their part.

I was forced to stall time. Doing whatever I can. Such as limbering up for the big fight. Performing pushups and sit ups. Doing various stretches. I want to be in the best shape possible. Just because I'm a magician doesn't mean I can slack off. Magic won't always be within my reach. I know I'mma have to be able to rely on my physical strength as well.

"The portal will be ready in one minute." Tammy announces. She follows with a stern finger raised like a teacher. "Just a piece of advice. We're heading for a place called Demon Territory. Which is known to be highly unpredictable and chaotic. The demons are much more savage in their universe. Far more gruesome and harder to kill. They won't be nothing like the ones here."

I turn on a dime. "S-Seriously?"

Monsters worse than what I saw back there? Even Lord Ominga? And traveling to another universe just seems unreal. But with all the things I experienced so far--it feels possible now. And knowing that there is another universe leaves my mind starving for answers. What is it like? Is their universe the same? Or vastly different?  Either way I know I'm gonna be in for one helluva ride!

"There is also little water and food. But magic will keep our needs in check. So just stick together, follow my lead and we should do fine." Tammy reminds us.

Demon territory? Isn't that the same place that Garadex guy traveled? If so, does she really expect us to survive there?

None of us here even stands close to Garadex. Tammy might be a powerhouse on her own. But she is certainly no wizard. Maybe someone like Deondre can do it. But even I didn't see the full intent of his power. And my power remains a mystery as well. Sure, I may have shitloads of potential. But that can only get me so far.

"Don't sweat it." Frankie grips my shoulder from behind. I exhale deeply. Not knowing what else to do anymore. "Tammy knows what she's doing. She has more battle experience than all of us. I'm pretty sure out of everyone...she's knows what's best for us."

I dart my eyes sideways. "I hope so, man. I really, really do."

The portal is up and running. It looks more bizarre than the last. Instead of a solid window. It is a circular portal. A spiraling mess of green and black colors. Much larger than the others too. The biggest one I've ever seen so far. Twice as big as a door.

Tammy stands ahead of us. Carrying her own spell book. A confident look on her face. Despite her short stature. She behaves more like our leader. Which is something that has been bothering me lately. Tammy is the shortest person here. Without a doubt, she looks the most fragile out of all of us. Yet she is strong. Both inside and out.

She's way stronger than me. I hate that about her. Her personality contradicts her own size. Unlike me. I should be the one acting all macho. But I guess this is Tammy's comfort zone. She's used to the madness. Just look at her. She looks just as excited as a kid on Christmas.

Frankie also looks ready to go. Despite him not having any powers. Sophie is a different case. I can sense a small spark of magic. Deep inside. But I know she's aware of it. That way she too can stand bold. While I'm here shaking in my pants. Getting ready to piss myself.

We've all faced demons before. Me twice already. So how come...I'm the only one scared for my life here?

We all head towards the portal. Tammy and the others are the first ones to go. I was the last to hop inside. No words of encouragement. No motivational speech. All we have left...is to just rely on ourselves for inspiration.
