Time past to later in the month of November. Julie was fine, as karma had had its way with her. It just need to get Kyle. But the world had yet to deliver on the punishment, no one noticed either of them, everything went on.

It was a Friday after school. Emma and Jose wanted to go to the dodge ball tournament at the Sweetner Rec Center. It wasn't until 6 though. She would go to his house until the tournament started.

In chemistry class throughout the week, Jose was telling Emma that his sister, Jessica, wasn't feeling well. He had mentioned she had a doctor's appointment that Friday and would be back home while they'd be waiting for the tournament to start.

They stopped at Clownous Café before heading to Jose's two-story house. They got the hot coco. The first snow of the season was expect the next week, and the weather had gotten colder lately.

Jose and Emma finally reached his house. They decided to play some video games while they waited. Jose turned on his XBOX 2020 and inserted his Call of Duty: World War of All, which was COD with different levels of all 5 world wars.

It was almost 4:30 when they finally passed the first World War together. They were almost passed the second War when his family came home, about 5:45, as Jose and Emma were getting their jackets on.

"Oh, hello Mr. and Mrs. Fuller, Jessica. We were just about to head to the tournament," said Emma to other Fullers.

"Hello Emma," replied James Fuller, "but would you mind leaving us with Jose for a moment of privacy?"

Emma looked at Jose, worried, unsure of what was about to happen, starting to head out of the room, she responded to Mr. Fuller, "of course, sir."

When they seen Emma was out of the clear, they asked Jose to sit down, Emma couldn't see from Jose's room, but she could hear somethings through the door. She's guessing he did as told and sat down.

They talked about Jessica's symptoms and how she wasn't feeling well. Jose never told Emma specifically what was wrong with his sister. She understood that Jessie had a fever, she lost her appetite, and she was having night sweats; Emma couldn't hear it all.

She heard a call from Julissa, their mother, "Jessica, honey, please stay," followed by a door slam. Then James said something inaudible to his wife.

Jose spoke, Emma couldn't hear him very well, he asked something about his sister, why she stormed off, why she was upset, why they hadn't told him anything yet.

Curiosity got to Emma, she put her ear up to the door. "Jose," Emma heard James, "your sister is sick, very sick."

"Yeah, I get that, Dad," said Jose. "What did the doctor say?" followed by a "Mom?"

Emma couldn't tell who said this but, someone told Jose the news, "my heart hurts to tell you, but our family's history caught up with your sister." There was a pause. Emma thought by the way the sentence was told, Julissa was telling Jose this.

The next voice was James, "our family's history caught up with your sister-"

Jose interrupted, "just tell me, one of you, please. You're scaring me enough."

James continued, "your grandma had a case and some of my ancestors. Jessica has what they did."

His mother cut in, "Jessica has leukemia, honey. It's called acute leukemia, it grows quickly but is completely curable."

There was silence, Emma thinks she hears sniffling after a minute or two, someone is crying. Mr. Fuller broke the silence, "it's okay, she'll be okay, they told us it's curable," he was reassuring himself. "We're sorry to have distracted Emma and you from the tournament. If you'd like to still go, we can take you guys." As good as modern technology was, the scientists didn't spend much time with things that were curable.
