But is this how you Wanted it?

Chapter 8: Approval.

Emma was still there, at Jose Fuller's house. Her brothers had left about a half hour ago. Jose wanted his parents to meet his best friend. They had cleaned up the spilt popcorn and restarted The Little Mermaid. Jose's parents wouldn't be home for another hour or so.

It was forty-five minutes into the movie, Jose and Emma would sing along to the classic songs, "Part of Your World" and "Under the Sea," while sitting on the couch. He had his arm wrapped around her, sitting side-by-side.

After "Under the Sea," Emma grabbed the closest pillow and put it to the opposite of the couch, she looked into his eyes, "Don't let me fall asleep, I want to be awake when your parents get here so I can meet them."

"Non-sense," he grabbed the pillow placing it on his lab, "if I'm good enough to have you here, then I'm good enough for you to lie on me."

Rolling her eyes, she laid her head on the pillow, "well if your going to take the pillow... just as I said don't let me fall asleep." She looked up at him, into his perfect green eyes.

Eventually, Emma did fall asleep, and Jose had let her. When he noticed she had closed her eyes, he got a blanket from behind the couch and covered her up. The movie was towards the end, as Princess Ariel and Prince Eric fought Ursula. Focused on the movie, making sure it didn't wake Emma, he didn't hear the car pull up or the keys turn in the lock. He heard the door open, he looked at the door then to Emma. Jose pushed Emma's hair back behind her ear. His parents walked in with Jessica.

"Jose, who is this?" asked his father, James Fuller, giving his son a look. James closed the door. He grabbed his wife's hand, placing his other on Jessica's shoulder.

Before answering, Jose lightly shook Emma awake, "this father, is Emma."

Emma awoke and raised up, looking at Jose's parents, "oh, Mr. and Mrs. Fuller," she removed the blanket and stood up, "I'm sorry, I told Jose to not let me to fall asleep. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Emma Jones, daughter to Stacey Jones and Isaiah Cole, as an illegitimate."

"Oh, it's no worry," said Julissa with a smile. Jose had his mother's eyes, as did Jessica. "It's pleasure to meet you. I'm Julissa and this is James," she said motioning at her husband, "and this is Jessica," motioning towards her daughter. She released James's hold and walked over the Emma. Holding out her hand to shake, Emma did the same. "Jessica, why are you so quite?" his mother questioned, "we have a guest."

"Come here, little sister," said Jose. She walked over shyly, "this Jess, is my other best friend, you know David, that's my best friend too. David always calls you his sister, right? And you call him your other brother. Well," he looked to Emma, then back to Jessica, "Jessie, this can be your sister, I know you have always wanted one." Jessica meant more than the world to Jose, she was ultimately his everything, if he didn't have her, he would be lost.

"I've never had a sister before," said Emma smiling. "If you're okay with the idea, so am I."

Jessica accepted the idea, "okay, big brother," she looked over to Emma, "and okay, sister."

There was a little bit of silence, James broke it and said"Jose, can we talk in the other room, please?"

"Yes, may we?" asked Julissa.

"Yes, ma'am," Jose got up to follow his mother and father to the kitchen leaving Jessica and Emma.

Emma and Jessica bonded over making fun of Jose as they were left alone. Emma told her about her middle school experiences and told Jessica they were amazing. Next year, Jessie would be a freshman. Emma told her, she would protect her if she ever needed anything, as would Jose and David. Jessica told her about Ronan Ganza, they had been dating for only a couple weeks...
