The double doors to the police station open. Cross grade couples stream out. Holding hands, screaming with excitement, allowed to live their lives together, for now. Emma and Jose were waiting inside still, they chose to be the last ones out.
"Look what we did babe. All these people are here because of what we wanted to do. We've made a movement in Sweetener. FCotP did this. David and Roxy did this. You did this," exclaimed Jose as he and Emma held hands, looking into each others eyes.
"It was a change that needed to be done, there is no 'we,' the town did this because it was the right thing," smiled Emma. They could hear the reports and everyone else waiting to hear the words of the FCotP leaders. Eventually, all the other couples had gone out, Emma and Jose followed the end of the crowd.
They walked out amd were almost rushed by reporters. Jose's parents were waiting in a car down the street, they were afraid of being bombarded by the paparazzi too. Roxy and David stood out waiting for them, reporters had gone away from them when people started rushing out.
Hand-in-hand, Emma and Jose answered what questions they could. "Ms. Jones!!! Mr. Fuller!!!" Reporters screamed over each other. Most of the questions they heard was about them getting together, their relationship, and what they plan to do next.
Thorough out the next few months, Emma and Jose took any time possible to fix the law in the county, and in the state. Luckily for them and the movement, the entire Country changed the law within the next six months. Though there were still details to be worked out, life would be changed for the better forever.
