Years ago, in 8816, Stacey Jones took her daughter to Unicorn Elementary School to register her up for kindergarten. Little Emma had her blonde pigtails and bright blue eyes, excited to see how school looked like. She didn't go to preschool, because Stacey knew what would have happened if she tried to get her daughter into preschool.

Isaiah and his wife, Zoey, had just had a baby, Zany. Emma didn't know she had half brothers in the world. She didn't know most children in RealN had mothers and fathers. Her mother kept her close because young Emma had a big mouth. She'd tell people things they didn't need to know.

Stacey Jones met Isaiah Cole in December of 8810. They met at a bar on the east side of town. As they both drank their sorrows with whiskey and tequila, they got too drunk and eventually made it to the upstairs bathroom. As most people could figure out, Emma Jones was concived in an upstairs bathroom at a now shut down bar. Stacey and Isaiah traded numbers, as they were still too drunk. They both were fully aware of what they were doing. Isaiah even called his wife's name during the incident, as Stacey had called her ex boyfriend's name.

A few weeks later, Stacey was late. Her best friend and her bought pregnancy tests for her to take. With her best friend by her side, Stacey found out she was pregnant. Still having his number, Stacey Jones told Isaiah, the next day, that she was pregnant with his baby.

Stacey had Emma at Sweetly Hospital Housing. It was a confidential hospital for people like Stacey, it was also an abortion center. Stacey didn't believe in aborting her child, even if she would have been an illegitimate at birth. On August 15, 8811, Stacey gave birth to her beautiful baby girl in the early morning. Her father wouldn't want anything to do with her.

A year later on her first birthday, Zoey and Isaiah concived Cody Cole, Emma's little brother. They still had their eldest, Isaac. Emma still didn't know she had brothers and wouldn't know for a long time.

As registration day came, Stacey got her daughter and herself ready to leave. Putting Emma in a red jacket and blue jeans, with black sneakers, Stacey wore her vintage Ugg boots and black pants with a white t-shirt, covered with a tan cardigan sweater. They left the apartment.

They waited in the line for almost an hour before it was their turn. The lady asked for Emma's paperwork and Stacey handed it to her. After filing through Emma's stack, the lady pulled out a piece of paper that had to be signed by both parents.

"Now please sign here, and if your husband is near, he'll have to sign here as well. Or come back tomorrow with his signature," said the lady.

A blank stare ran over Stacey's face. She hadn't had a husband. Emma's father wouldn't sign it. The only way Emma could go to school without both signatures would be for some lawyers to apply for Emma to go to school. These were the rules. In order to keep the number of fatherless children, divorces, and population, down to a minimum.

"Um, what if he's out of state, or the country? Like he won't be home for a while?" asked Stacey.

"Then we could have a speed delivery service to get the papers signed," as she became slightly suspicious, "his signature wouldn't be a problem, would it?"

"I'm not sure yet. I'll have to talk to her father," replied Stacey to the snarky lady.

"Here's the paper. The law starts for us that after we give you the paper, you have 48 to return it, or you will either get an investigation launched into you and your child's life or a very, very large fine," the lady gave a weird look to Stacey.

Stacey went home with pigtailed Emma and called Isaiah. He didn't pick up. It became the last day to turn in the paper, Stacey didn't want to do this, but he had left her with no choice.
