there you were - talking to one of your friends as you finally caught some fresh air. the air in the crowded house was only bearable for so long. although, it was a high school party and you expected nothing less than alcohol 'accidentally' slipping into the punch bowl. thankfully you had gotten your drink beforehand.
peter watched from his aunt's car - mentally debating on whether or not he should actually go inside. ned was all for it, finally getting a chance to drag peter out and into the social scene more.
he was still staring as you looked around the quiet neighborhood, admiring the tiny stars in the sky. when your eyes landed on the familiar car, you politely excused yourself from the conversation you were in, skipping down the grass and up to the passenger side window.
almost immediately peter rolled down the window, giving you a heartwarming smile. "h-hey y/n." he tumbled over his words.
"hi peter, hi ned. nice hat by the way," you complimented, looking back towards the party for a split second. "may! I've missed you!"
may grinned. you were one of her favorite friends that peter had, and she treated you as if you were one of her own.
"are you guys coming in or are you just going to look like secret agents all night? I'm pretty sure may has a date to attend to, right?" may raised her eyebrows, a second passing by before she agreed.
"right! you guys should go, have some fun for once, pete!"
not once had peter's eyes left you. he admired every detail on your face, noticing the way your eyelashes delicately laid on your eyelids, and the way your eyes sparkled under the streetlight. he nodded, finally getting out of the car, ned following in his footsteps.
the three of you all exchanged goodbyes with may before you made your way back to the crowded house.
you slung your arm around peter's shoulder, despite being a bit shorter than he was. "have I mentioned that you're cute, peter?" you questioned before pressing a light kiss to his cheek.
