My alarm went off. 7 AM. I rolled over and to my surprise Rylan wasn't there. He must have heard me get up because he came out of the locker room. "Hey beautiful." he said walking up to me. I cracked a smile while I was rubbing my eyes. He came over and flopped down next to me. I leaned my head on his shoulder and he chuckled. "What do you have 1st hour?" he asked. "Math with stupid Mrs. Barkley." I said, groggily, with a sigh. "That sucks. I have Mrs. Marble." He replied. "I'm gonna go get ready." I said as I stood up and walked to the girls locker room. After about 20 minutes I heard the bell ring. I screwed my favorite concealer closed and threw it into my bag. I heard a knock at the door. "Come in!" I yelled as I blended out my concealer. "Livy, let's go. We are gonna be late!" Rylan said has he walked into the locker room. "Yea yea I'm getting there." Rylan walked over and started putting all my makeup away. He knew that if was late one more time, I would be suspended. "Alright I'm ready." I said. "Let's go." Walking from the gym to the classrooms meant that you had to walk down the elementary hallway. That was always fun because they are terrified of you. Rylan and I walked down the middle of the hallway. We didn't have to push them out of the way because they moved for you. Honestly, it's hilarious. As we walked down we felt so many little people eyes go from our eyes then to our hands and back again. It took all we could do not to laugh. The passing bell rang. Three minutes to get to class. Rylan walked me to Mrs. Barkleys room and then slowly walked to his because he was known for showing up without a minute to spare.
"Today we will be taking our Chapter 3 Math test. Do you guys want a few minutes to look over the material?" Mrs. Barkley said with a beaming smile and a cup of coffee in hand. "Yes." we shouted back, sounding like we had just found out that someone died. We all whipped out our notes because none of us studied. Those basketball games are way too loud and entertaining. I studied for a few and then walked up to Mrs. Barkley. "Can I go buy breakfast from the cafeteria?" I asked, quietly so I didn't disturb anyone. "Ummm......yes, but make it fast." I nodded and walked out the door. I stopped by my locker to grab my wallet and texted Rylan. I was shocked to see that he beat me to the cafeteria because his classroom is a few doors down from mine. "Can I get a bagel with Cream Cheese?" I asked the lunch-lady. She nodded and I swiped my student ID to pay. I grabbed a table and pulled up two chairs. I sat down and took my notes back out. Rylan sat down beside me and took out his English homework. "Babe, you really gotta start doing your homework." I said glancing over at his worksheet. "No, I need to spend more time on my swing. It's falling apart. Can you help me with it?" he asked. I was number three in states for my batting average. It was a .825.
If you don't speak softball or baseball, that means that I hit the ball 8.25 out of 10 times.
"Meet me at Lakeland at 4." I said. "No. We are walking together after school." "Sounds great."
