Chapter 26
Ross' POV
As we walked off of the carpet, I grab Laura's hand.
"I'm really glad, you're here." She told me.
"I'm actually glad that we ended up here together even though that wasn't the plan at all."
"Haha! Alexandra is going to be so mad at us!"
"Yeah probably, but it's weird." I start. "I kind of don't really care."
"And I feel the exact same way." She smiled at me. "Anyways, the date was the most horrible thing ever."
"Really?" I asked. "I thought you liked that guy..."
"I did. But not anymore. And now that everyone took pictures of me and Sebastian when we arrived, and then you came on the carpet with me, it'll be all over the social media in only a couple of hours."
"Yeah, probably. And everyone is going to be so pissed..."
"And there's no way Alexandra is letting me break up with Seb."
"You want to break up with him!?"
We were now walking in the movie theater.
"Shhh!" She almost screamed. "People could hear us!" She added. Soon enough, I realised we were surrounded by actors and obviously, by a lot of reporters and paparazzi.
We walked towards our assigned seats, and realized we were sitting next to each other. Sebastian was sitting beside Laura too. We waited about half an hour for everyone to get in their seats so the movie could start.
Slowly, the lights shut down and the movie started.
Half an hour into the movie, Laura grabbed my arm and turned to me. She smiled and I eventually did the same. I looked at her eyes, her face was lit up by the movie. She was beautiful.
"You want to get out of here?" I randomly asked her quietly.
"I thought you'd never ask." She simply responded as she got out of her seat.
"Hey! Where are you going!?" Sebastian asked her.
"Bathroom." She let out.
"And what about you?" He asked me suspiciously.
"Refill this," I said as I showed him my drink.
After Sebastian's interrogatory, we silently got out of the room and eventually got out of the movie theater. When we walked outside, it was all gone. The carpet, the paparazzi, the reporters, everything. All was left was the thousand lights of the city that made it seem so alive.
"You know what this makes me think of?" She said, looking at me.
"No, what?"
"That day, a few months ago. I was walking out of this venue and I was blown away when I saw all those lights. I was slowly waking away when someone called my name. And then, you showed up." She smiled at me, still walking.
"I remember this night as if it was yesterday..."
"Yeah... Me too."
She stopped walking.
I got a little closer to her and she turned to face me.
"And I tried to do this..."
I leaned in and closed my eyes.
"We can't do this."
"What?"
"Ross, people could be watching!" She let out. "And news flash, I am still officially in a relationship."
