Chapter 5

Ross' POV

Oh no!

She was leaving!

I screamed as loud as I could without sounding aggressive and scary.

''Laura!! Laura wait! Laura!!!''

I was running towards her.

I opened the main doors of the venue.

It was really dark outside, but the city lights made it all better.

''Laura!'' I called, catching my breathe.

She turned around.

She saw me and her face lighten up.

A tiny smile was growing on her beautiful face.

So I smiled too.

''You came...'' She said with that smile.

''I couldn't let you down.''

''But um I'm really sorry 'bout being late'' I added.

''It's fine''

''Hey! But how do you know my name? I don't remember telling you what it was...''

She had a point.

For a second, I didn't remember.

But then I looked to her face, her smile and my eyes went down her neck, and that's when it hit me.

Her necklace.

''Your necklace. I saw it earlier when I invited you to stay after the show. It's really pretty!''

She looked down at her necklace, she was holding it between her fragile fingers.

''Really?'' She said still looking at it with a heartwarming smile.

She looked really happy and that made me happy too.

''So, what did you think about the show? Did you like it?'' I said to break the silence.

''I loved it! It was so cool! I danced and sang the whole time! You guys were really good!'' She said, and I'm pretty sure she meant it.

Laura's POV

I was talking to him as if I knew him for a long time.

Some people might think I was freaking out because I was talking to him, but I wasn't.

He made me feel like I was talking to a normal person.

I enjoyed it.

''I'm happy you liked it!'' He replied.

''We always try to put on the best shows for the fans. We really don't want them to feel like it wasn't enough.'' He added.

''Well now that I'm talking to you, I really don't feel like it wasn't enough.''

''Haha! But it's true though. I don't often have conversations with girls I meet at the concerts. Well, actually, it kind of never happened. We don't have a lot of time after the shows.''

''Then what are you still doing here? Get back there!'' I said because I really didn't want him to get in trouble because of me.

''Maybe I should'' He simply replied.

''Yeah... Go.'' I said, gently.

I know I didn't want this to end.

Or him to go, but he had to.

''Oh but I need your number before I leave, to, you know... stay in touch'' He said, looking embarrassed, like he was scared I would say no.

''Haha sure. Here.'' I gave him a little piece of paper I ripped from my notebook, the one I always have on me. You know, in case some lyrics popped in my head, like they usually do.

''Thanks'' Ha said.

''My pleasure'' I replied, looking directly in his hazel eyes. Smiling.

His eyes were gorgeous. I was staring at them like it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Then, slowly, and carefully, his face leaned closer to mine.

He looked at me like he was about to kiss me.

He leaned in and slowly closed his eyes, his lips were now so close to mine, I could feel his warm breathe.

''Ross, I can't. I'm... I'm really sorry. I can't.'' I said quickly turning my head to the right.

''But I...I thought maybe-''

''Look... It's not you. Just that I want-... I've never had my first kiss.... and you know, I, I don't want it to be with someone I met 3 hours ago, you know. And don't get me wrong, I really do love you, and from the few things I know about you, you're a great person and you have an amazing personality, but I, I just can't do this right now, Okay?''

There was a short silence moment after I finished talking. And then he broke the silence.

''You don't have to apologize, Laura. I should. I, I just didn't know, and I'm really sorry. I should've waited. Sorry.''

‘‘Its fine, Ross. I don't blame you of anything. Just know that it's not you. Okay?''

''Yeah... I got that part'' He said with his really cute smile, the one I had fallen for.

''Hey Ross, I really think you should go now.'' I said.

''Yeah I should, I don't want anyone to get worried''

We looked at each other and I went towards him.

He pulled me in a hug.

This time it was different.

It wasn't the same feeling I got when I met him first earlier.

This time it was more... meaningful.

We let go of each other and smiled.

''Bye'' I said.

''See you soon''

He starting walking towards the venue doors.

He looked back at me and I waved.

He waved back and slowly disappeared.

A few seconds later, I heard my phone ringing in my bag.

I opened my bag and reached for it.

Unlocked it.

And I read:

One new message

From: Unknown

I clicked on it.

And then I read:

We’ll see each other again soon

-Ross

I smiled and I looked up.

He wasn't there anymore.

He had left.

But I knew this wasn't the end.

We would see each other again soon.

So I put my phone back in my bag, grabbed the bag, and I started walking.

Walking towards the night city lights, still a smile on my face.
