16: She's not useless!

"I have something to do." Lu Zhiyan told his little sister. "Just call for me if you are in need of something, okay?"

Lu Miyan nodded in reply to Lu Zhiyan and Lu Zhiyan patted her head lovingly, they truly cared for each other, Lu Zhiyan's eyes softened at the sight of Lu Miyan's face then he turned away and left, closing the door gently on his way out.

Lu Miyan rummaged through the mattress of her bed and pulled out one of the books that she has bought at the market a few days ago, she was in the last ten pages of the books that only revealed small informations that did little impact to her knowledge.

She flipped the page fast and it made people think that she wasn't actually reading it but rather playing with the book when in reality, she had really read it, she was just a fast reader and not to mention, her memory is more durable than most people.

After only a couple of minutes, she closed the book and her eyes were shimming the new information that she had gained, she stretched her arms out and walked over to the fox that still had orange eyes.

She softly gathered the fox within her arms and observed him, he didn't look like there was something out of the ordinary with him aside from his clear change of eyes, he was still acting the same.

He didn't look like he was hostile or didn't remember Lu Miyan but the different colour of the eyes bothered Lu Miyan as she still didn't know how the herb activated it or how to make his eyes return to his normal purple ones.

The fox tilted his head when he noticed that his master was looking at him oddly, he had noticed that ever since he woke up, his master has been careful with him and always looked at him as if he was a specimen!

It was really making the fox uneasy.

The fox rubbed himself to Lu Miyan's body in attempt to make Lu Miyan not look at him weirdly anymore, Lu Miyan only responded by touching his fur continuously with a fond look on her face.

But before the fox can process what was happening, it felt a cold wind that made it shiver. The fox looked up and saw that Lu Miyan wasn't the one holding her but was Xu Min instead!

Sensing the murderous aura coming from Xu Min, the fox struggled to get out of his arms but failed to do so because Xu Min is determined to not let it out of his arms.

Seeing the two, Lu Miyan exasperatedly sighed and walked over to Xu Min, she proceeded to scoop the fox over in her arms again without struggle and it made the fox agitated because of the obvious biased Xu Min.

Although, Xu Min has still the darkened look on his face when he saw that Lu Miyan had touched the fox again but Lu Miyan still has not noticed the aura that he was emitting and the look on his face.

Mainly because Xu Min only released his aura directed to the fox and when Lu Miyan glanced at Xu Min in warning, his face softened instantly.

He was like a love struck dog!

Xu Min pulled Lu Miyan close to him in which Lu Miyan's instinct flared causing her to whip out her silver needles but Xu Min stopped her before she can attack him.

The fox slipped out of Lu Miyan's arms before Xu Min can crush it and jumped up and down crazily at Lu Miyan.

Master! You mustn't be manipulated by this evil person! The fox cried out.

Both Xu Min and Lu Miyan can understand the fox's words but ignored him which made the fox become a little depressed because of being ignored.

Xu Min closed the gap between him and Lu Miyan and whispered in her ear. "Did you miss me?"

Lu Miyan didn't nod or make a noise of approval or denial which didn't exactly sat well with Xu Min because he thought that this little girl missed him with the days that have gone past.

But realising that Lu Miyan didn't actually say 'no' to him, his face lit up. He grinned mischieviously at Lu Miyan to which honestly made Lu Miyan a little nervous.

"Yan Yan~" He called out dotingly to her, Lu Miyan suddenly tilted her head in confusion and her eyes even widened up a bit, she was obviously not expecting to be called like that.

"Have you been doing well these past days?" He asked her and hugged her, subtly encircling his arms around her waist so that she wouldn't struggle in his arms. He lifted his head and put it on Lu Miyan's so that it was resting on it.

He felt warm against Lu Miyan's body and his heart, who is usually dead and unresponsive, started beating really fast that he even questioned if Lu Miyan can feel it.

Lu Miyan was frozen by his actions that she couldn't even process what was happening, she only stood there like a statue and her arms were timidly on the sides of her body.

She wasn't used to this sort of interaction with males since she was only stuck with one man in her past life, when she realised that she was falling for that man, she didn't leave his side and didn't had any physical contact with other males aside from him.

And now a complete stranger was hugging her and she didn't know what to do.

It was understandable why someone like her didn't know how to respond to such actions but it only made her seem like an inexperienced newborn kitten in Xu Min's eyes.

It made him want to protect her more and that was indeed his intention from the moment he had sensed the aura from Lu Miyan that belonged to her.

Just recalling the events that had happened in the past made Xu Min's heart clenched in pain but luckily, he had found her again and this time, he wont let her fall and perish at the hands of those people.

He would let her finish what she wanted to finish and no one would be stopping her this time, no one would be able to touch her or get close to her aside from him.

Clueless to the thoughts that was running in Xu Min's mind, Lu Miyan's mind was filled with her own trip back in the past. They were both thinking of the same thing but different scenarios and only they both knew what they were thinking because they were both still not ready to talk about it with each other.

Xu Min would gladly say it but he knew that it wasn't the right time and because Lu Miyan was still cautious around him, his goal was to carefully let down Lu Miyan's walls and make her feel comfortable with him around.

The fox stared at the two people in awe because they certainly looked like a painting, a perfect painting of the theme of love, the only thing missing is the falling petals of flowers or the snow.

A beauty that struck men's heart with astonishment and make women's heart burn in envy and the man that literally looks like a demon's descent with handsome features that matches his oppressive aura.

This was something that can only be seen by the fox, if people knew about these two people, they would surely be shocked by the incomparable features that these two people have.
