Chapter 18: La Fraternidad

Nakahinga ng maluwag si Seth nang sa wakas ay makalabas sila sa mansyon gamit ang isang tagong lagusan na konektado palabas sa mga matataas na bakod ng mansyon.

Hingal na tumigil ang dalawa sa kakatakbo. Seth finally let go of Sam's wrist, as both of them tried to get some air their lungs needed. Nasa gitna sila ngayon ng isang masukal na kagubatan.

The mansion is located far from the municipality's proper, at nasa likod nito ang mga mayayamang gubat. Gamit ang lihim na lagusan palabas ng mansyon ay makakarating ka na sa gitna ng gubat.

Both thought na nakalayo na sila sa kaguluhang nangyayari sa loob ng mansyon, when in fact they didn't know Timothy was quietly following them from behind.

Nang mapasok nila chief Dalloso at Tim ang lagusan, they both saw a lot of doors in the hallway at isa lang mula sa halos sampung pinto ang nakabukas at nababahiran ng dugo. They thought that the kidnappers already took the subject away, and that the subject was bleeding.

Susundan na sana ni Tim ang mga patak ng dugo nang mapansin nitong nakasunod pa rin sa kaniya ang kaniyang tiyohin. He faced the chief at pinaki-usapang hayaan nalang siya nitong sundan ang dugo, dahil total misyon niya naman talaga niya ito. It was his mission to retrieve Samantha and put the girl to justice, not theirs.

Chief Dalloso proudly smiled at his nephew before nodding. Agad namang napangiti si Tim bago tumango at agad nang sinundan ang mga patak mg dugo.

Tim continuously followed the trail of blood through the dim hallway hanggang sa namalayan nitong nasa labas na pala siya ng mansyon. It was a secret tunnel going out of the mansion. This architectural technique were very useful during the Spanish colonization in the Philippines, especially to the government officials that are members of the K.K.K. They use the tunnels for their secret meetings and such.

Timothy immediately roamed his eyes around the perimeter, hoping to see the girl he's been finding for. Until his eyes spotted two silhouettes, one was a silhouette of a girl while the other was from a man. He carefully walked closer to them, then hid behind a big bush. He was just a few meters away from the two unknown persons. Since the place was dark at hindi nito binuksan ang flashlight, he couldn't picture out their faces.

While on the other hand, Seth immediately held Sam's hand and was about to pull her away from the place but was stunned when he felt her pulling off its hand from his. He looked at the girl, shocked and confused...

"You wanted to kill me..." hindi nakapagsalita si Seth nang marinig ang sinabi ni Samantha. He knew she'd ask him about this. It's just, he wouldn't expect that she'd ask him here, in the middle of the forest.

Gulat at napakunot naman ang noo ni Tim nang marinig ang boses ng babae. It was Sam...

"Sam, this is not the right time to ask those questions. We need to—" Sam immediately cut him off.

"So what? So that you could kill me?" Ani Sam, Seth did not utter a word.

"Naalala ko na ang lahat Seth, I already remembered everything. And I am so sorry that I forgot about you. I'm so sorry because I killed your uncle!" Bulyaw ni Sam.

"I'm so sorry for hurting you again!" Tears were already welling up in Samantha's eyes as Seth just stared at her. He didn't know what to feel. If he'd be happy or hurt?

Happy because, finally Samantha already remembered him. Or hurt? Hurt because of the truth. The truth that he did once wanted to end her. The truth that he did once betrayed her.
