Hello, lovelies! Merry Christmas! I really hope you all have a wonderful day! (If you don't celebrate the festivity, of course, I still wish for you to have a wonderful day also, you deserve it!) Also, you may hate me, but this Chapter, it will make you hate me... (Please don't I'm sorry ಥヮಥ)
Tick, tock, tick, tock. What a travesty...
Sitting in the lounge with the woman who seemed to be well acquainted with 'Jeffrey' was awkward as expected, and of course, Taeyong had to speak up. 'I think it is well appreciated if I make my leave, but...' He placed his cold untouched cup of tea onto the coffee table, he seemed to not want to drink the once warm beverage that was given to him. 'Please don't call Jaehyun Jeffrey, he doesn't like it, and if you want to be more than friends with him then you better treat him properly.' There was no way to hold back the pain in his throat, the sore dry lump, it made his eyes water up without consent to it, he wanted to keep his careless unbothered image up, but he couldn't. This was Jaehyun's future, he didn't want to ruin that.
Jaehyun closed his eyes tightly, he moved his head the other way. 'Sunmi, please leave. If my- friend... can't stay in this room with me then there's no point in you staying, is there? And tell my parents to stuff themselves, I don't want to marry you. Tell them I am asexual.'
Sunmi had made a bitter expression at Taeyong briefly, behind his back as his hand had made contact with the metal door handle. But he wasn't moving just staring at the white paint of the door. That hurt, but it wasn't supposed to hurt, I knew this day would come but not this soon, I wasn't prepared for this just yet.
Taeyong wanted to scream.
But being in the image of a straight gentleman was already broken, especially when...
'What, and leave me single?' Sunmi had said, a strangled tone in her voice like she was hurt by Taeyong more in this situation but she didn't even hold the same bond as Jaehyun and Taeyong seemed to share. She made a laugh, Taeyong felt his stomach twist at how fake it was. 'LOOK. I only thought Jungwoo was playing with me! Haha! So you two really are, together. So, let's see... I could tell your parents exactly that as my excuse and let you off... or~ I could just... Not? And that includes you keeping the promise between our families, Jeffrey.'
Bitch. She reminds me a lot of Josie, oh wait no, she's worse. Because her intentions lack total empathy to how everyone else should feel except for herself, while Josie still had empathy for people, certain people. Taeyong's thoughts were loud but if only he could speak up and defend Jaehyun. But he was a mere adoptee, he wasn't at the same status and that would be deemed rude.
He wanted to save them, well... Jaehyun. But his hand fearfully and gradually pressed down on to the metal where he was facing.
He could feel himself saying goodbye in his conscience and hear his conscience also telling him to just move on before it gets more painful. It's already so painful.
'Fine, I'll leave' Spoke Sunmi. 'But, if you believe that I won't get any benefit from this then you're wrong.'
Jaehyun said nothing, he was too deep in thought, rubbing his chin gently.
Lose his family and fortune or love.
He just wouldn't survive, either way, he couldn't. He was being blackmailed, and there was nothing he could do without being in trouble. Of course, he thought of the solution to accidentally kill Sunmi but, that wouldn't go too well, more disastrous than the blackmailing.
Then he knew, so did Taeyong. And so the boy left the room, with tears swarming his eyes. Maybe to hide in one of the many rooms in the building where Jaehyun wouldn't expect him to go into.
Sunmi kept tapping her foot.
It was irritating...
He spoke up: 'I-It's just marriage, isn't it? You're abusing that system, it's meant to be for two people who love each other. But, you are in it for the money, aren't ya? How dare you threaten me and you know what...? I will marry you. But never expect to feel any love, never expect me to do anything with you. Because I don't love you. Simple? You will never ever be loved by me, even if you try. Taeyong has nothing to do with you, stay away from him and maybe I'll just let you off and try not to make your life miserable with me. Before you know it, we'll be divorcing. And that? That's the truth. Because us two aren't in love. Now get the hell out of my house you-' He was about to say wrench but that was too rude, he could've said something like a filthy animal, but he chose not to. He had overly buttered his rudeness already.
Her face lost complete colour. But she smiled. 'Good, we'll see about that. See you on the day, hm?'
There was no way. To escape this prison.
'Fuck... fuck, fuck...' Jaehyun was muttering after she left on his orders.
He collapsed onto the chair, feeling his head go light headed. 'I don't like women... I-' He swallowed. He brought out his silver cross from under his shirt where it usually was. 'God forgive me. I hurt him, I hurt myself and I even hurt her. How many sins do I exactly have?'
