I couldn't hear anything else but muffled laughter, everywhere. All I could see was darkness, everywhere.
All I could smell was the antiseptic stench of the hospital but I felt as if I was no longer there. None of that existed. I was in a whole other world, but none of it made sense to me yet.
My eyes were closed, but I couldn't seem to open them. They felt glued shut, but the darkness was enclosing me. My heart beat faster and faster and it became the only noise around me. The steady beat, booming in my ears.
Suddenly a blurred image came into view. The sound of his voice was slurred and muffled but I could see it clear as day. It felt like I was stood right in front of me. My mum was stood behind him, but he closed the door to shut her out and walked round to me. He sat down on a bed, my bed. We were in my room. But not my room at the flat, my room in another house. He was talking to me, and I was focused on his face. I remember, his face. He looked a lot more like me than my mum. His eyes, they were so warm and resembled the same shape as mine, and the colour. They were beautiful.
His hair was thick, and a lovely golden brown, the light shone on it highlighting the top making beautiful streaks of darkness flow down the side of his face. The shadow enhancing his features. His nose was another thing we resembled. I still couldn't hear his voice, but it was becoming more clear.
It flashed round my mind multiple times before I could hear it completely. "Caitlyn, are you okay? You still remember me right!?" That's when he walked over to the bed. "Look, I know you're annoyed that they always give me more attention, but I don't mean it! I still love you! I always will okay? I'm your brother! That will never change. It may feel like they love me more, but that isn't true! They love you too!" He stood up and hugged me, his warm arms wrapped round me, but I said nothing, I could hear the quiet laughing from down stairs, the muttering of a crowd of people. I guessed we had company at the time but I didn't seem to care. He slowly walked out the room and the darkness appeared again. All around me, enclosing me in it's claws.
I felt waves of pain flow through my head and screamed every time they came. I still couldn't hear anything from where I actually was, but the antiseptic stench still flew through my nostrils. My heart beat became the only thing I could focus on, I could hear the blood rushing through my ears but still the darkness circled me.
My eye lids still felt stuck to my cheeks but I channelled all my strength into opening them, the darkness was unbearable. My eyes fluttered open and I took in my surroundings.
I seemed to be on my knees with my hands to my ears, I was shaking uncontrollably and Josh was holding my arm. My forehead was drenched in sweat and my head was pounding. Connor had called the doctor in and they were both crouched in front of me anticipating my next move. I lowered my arms from my ears and shuffled round to sit leaning against the frame of the bed. My breathing was fast and I found my self gasping for breath before I could manage to speak.
"What happened?" Connor was staring at me, mouth open waiting for a reply.
I looked round at them, "I remembered something, but it was so different to the other memories! I felt like I was there again, instead of just seeing it happen, I could feel the warmth, it was all I could see, all I could hear. It was horrible..."
"You were screaming" Josh was stuttering as he spoke and grabbed onto my hand. "Did it really hurt you? You looked like you were in so much pain!"
I shook my head gently, "I don't know, it hurt my head pretty bad, like... I could feel rushed of pain flashing through me, but when the memory started in my head I felt fine, I could just hear and see that. The only thing that didn't seem to be in the memory was my sense of smell. I could still smell the room".
