"Goodbye, bus." Jack tapped the side of the bus as they looked at it for the last time.
Their 8 Letters European tour was finally over, and now they were headed for a one week break before their Asian tour. All the boys were headed home to stay with their families for the week. Since Daniel, Jack, and Zach's families had moved to LA, the three were all scheduled on the same flight to LA. Corbyn was heading to Virginia, and Jonah had left the hotel early and was already on the plane to Minnesota.
Jonah yawned as he glanced around the plane, gazing at his fellow travel companions. He was in the aisle seat, the perfect place to people-watch.
The heavyset man to his left was fast asleep, snoring quietly. A baseball cap was tucked low over his eyes, and he was sporting a fleece sweater with the logo of some golf club in Minnesota.
On the other side of the aisle were a set of new parents and a young baby, who was sitting on the father's lap. The mother seemed a little under the weather, sneezing and blowing her nose every so often. A pile of crumpled tissues sat in her lap.
Jonah turned his music up. He was listening to a playlist that Daniel had made for him for their six-month anniversary of being a couple. Technically, their anniversary was going to be in eight days, the first day of the Asian part of the 8 Letters tour. But Daniel knew that they wouldn't have much time to listen to music on tour, so he'd given the gift in advance. The playlist had 180 tracks on it-- one song for every day of them being a couple. He was currently on song #29, "Make You Feel My Love" by Adele.
He closed his eyes and let the music guide him to sleep.
~~~~~~
Jonah woke to a sudden, horrible crushing pain in his hand. Inspecting his fingers groggily, he looked up to see what had hurt his hand.
It was the flight attendant's meal cart, the corner of which had crashed into his hand on the armrest.
Jonah gently wiggled his fingers, making sure they were fine. His only concern was what would happen if his fingers were broken or injured. He needed his hand to hold the microphone and play the piano onstage, and if anything was wrong he was going to have to get it fixed immediately.
Luckily, upon inspection, his fingers were perfectly fine.
He gladly accepted his in-flight meal of chicken with an unusually sweet sauce, a clump of pasta, and carrot slices. He was on song #94 of Daniel's playlist, "Youth" by Troye Sivan. The playlist was perfect to listen to on this 10 hour flight all the way from London to Minnesota. Usually, he liked to read during flights, but he hadn't brought a single book with him. He had to leave all his Harry Potter at home, since his luggage ran out of space.
Jonah used his plastic fork to scoop up some of the pasta, eating it quickly. The food wasn't as nice as the catering that he'd gotten in Europe, but he hadn't eaten breakfast and he was practically starving.
He pulled his hood up as the woman across the aisle sneezed again. Planes were great for speed, but they sure weren't great for keeping everyone cozy and preventing the spread of sickness.
~~~~~~
The seatbelt sign flashed on, and an announcement came up over the plane. They were preparing to land.
Jonah checked his playlist. He was on song #178. The playlist was literally the perfect length to listen to on this flight. He silently thanked Daniel for always being the perfect boyfriend and having the perfect gifts, even if it was unintentional this time.
The plane landed smoothly, and Jonah smiled as the 180th song began to play. Per Daniel's request, he hadn't scrolled through the playlist to check the songs, so they'd be a surprise when he heard them.
